Why Bet on the New York Giants?

The streak of five straight losing seasons has got to end for the Ne York Giants, who recently hired their fourth head coach since 2016 and are hoping that former Buffalo offensive coordinator Brian Daboll is the right man for the job. Daboll would need a ton of magic from his days on the Bills’ sidelines, as there’s not a lot to work within this struggling New York franchise.

Quarterback Daniel Jones needs to take the next step in his fourth NFL season, lest he be demoted to a backup role in the near future. In 11 games last season, Jones threw for only 10 touchdowns whilst having been picked off seven times. The former sixth-overall pick out of Duke has fumbled a total of 36 times in his first three years in the pros (20 fumbles lost), which means Jones must improve in his pocket awareness to prevent another miserable season for his team.

Unfortunately, the Giants’ receivers aren’t worth bragging about. Instead, they must continue to rely on former Offensive Rookie of the Year Saquon Barkley to spearhead the offensive production. Barkley has not played a full NFL season since his breakout rookie campaign, though, as the 25-year-old Bronx native finished with just 593 rushing yards and two TDs on the ground in 13 games last season.

Why Bet on the Tennessee Titans?

With back-to-back AFC South titles under their belt, the Tennessee Titans will be one of the more compelling teams to follow this 2022 NFL season. Tennessee might’ve gotten a deeper playoff run the last time out had it not been for a season-ending knee injury suffered by former NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Derrick Henry.

Henry appears to be in tip-top shape heading into Week 1 of the new season and is ready to reclaim his throne as the best running back in the league. He was on pace to finish with over 1,500 rushing yards for the third consecutive year last season before going down in Week 8 against the Colts.

What’s hindering the Titans’ chances of being real Super Bowl threats is the relatively mediocre job that Ryan Tannehill has done under center the previous season. Although Tannehill threw for over 3,700 yards, the decade-long NFL veteran had just 21 passing touchdowns to a staggering 14 interceptions. It also doesn’t help that Tennessee lost two of their top receivers in A.J. Brown and Julio Jones this offseason, which puts a lot more pressure on rookie wideout Treylon Burks (the 18th-overall pick at the 2022 NFL Draft) to produce in his maiden season as a pro.

Giants vs. Titans Betting Trends

  • The G-Men are 1-6 in the last seven games against teams from the AFC (2-5 ATS).
  • The totals went under in six of those seven Giants games versus AFC opponents.
  • The Titans went 7-2 at home the previous regular season (6-3 ATS).
  • The Titans are on a four-game win streak against teams from the NFC (3-1 ATS).
  • The totals went under in all five of the most recent games played in Nissan Stadium, including the playoffs.

Giants vs. Titans Expert Betting Predictions

At first glance, this Week 1 contest appears to be a lopsided affair in favor of the Titans. However, we wouldn’t be surprised if the Giants have a strong showing in their season debut under a new coaching regime, especially with Tennessee’s defense not as touted as it once was. One thing’s pretty certain, though: the ground battle between Henry and Barkley will be the main highlight of this brawl, which could result in a low-scoring, grind-it-out affair between the two run-heavy franchises.
