Why Bet on the New York Jets?

In New York’s lats couple of games, the Jets defense hasn’t played great football. NYJ gave up 30 points to AFC East rival Miami in a 30-0 loss.

Then in NFL Week 16, the Jets gave up 28 to the Washington Commanders in a 30-28 NYJ victory. What’s worrisome about the Jets win over Washington is that NYJ was up 27-7 at halftime. So the defense imploded in the second half.

The Jets defense will have their hands full against scorching Joe Flacco and the Browns offense. If the Jets aren’t capable of stopping the pass, Cleveland’s offensive line will open gigantic holes for the Browns rushers.

The offense has been a disaster since Aaron Rodgers went down in NFL Week 1. Sounds crazy, but the offense will be worse on Thursday night than it has been in a while.

The reason is that Zack Wilson is injured and won’t start. Trevor Siemian gets the nod. Siemian has thrown 3 picks in a couple of games to go along with a single touchdown pass.

What’s worse is that Siemian is completing less than 56% of his passes. Breece Hall will struggle versus the best run defense in football. So unless Siemian steps it up, the Jets offense will have a bad outing.

Why Bet on the Cleveland Browns?

The Browns have won 3 straight. Although Joe Flacco and Amari Cooper have gotten the press, and for good reason, Cleveland wouldn’t have won those three games if not for their stingy defense.

The Jaguars scored 27 but other than that blip, and it didn’t even cost the Browns because Cleveland won the game, the Bears dropped 17 and the Texans posted 22 in a couple of Cleveland victories. On Thursday night, Myles Garrett and his mates should feast on a Jets offense that is bad when Zack Wilson is their quarterback.

Joe Flacco to Amari Cooper is a thing. Sure, Flacco has thrown 5 interceptions in Cleveland’s last couple of games, but Kevin Stefanski will take it because Flacco has led the Browns to 3 straight victories.

The former Baltimore Ravens player is completing 64 to 65 percent of his passes. Cooper has caught 15 passes for 374 yards and 3 touchdowns in the past couple of games.
