Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl LVII MVP X-Factors
Most of the Kansas City Chiefs’ success can be attributed to another MVP-like campaign for once-in-a-generation quarterback Patrick Mahomes. However, the Chiefs wouldn’t be where they are now – back in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years – if not for several key players who’ve also stepped up huge for the team.
Nitrobetting is ready to equip its bettors with the latest news, NFL odds, and special features for the duration of the 2022-23 NFL season. Let’s take a closer look at three important Kansas City Chiefs players who are expected to be X-factors in Super Bowl LVII, as well as their corresponding odds of winning the Super Bowl MVP award.
3 X-Factor Players for the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII
DT Chris Jones
- Odds to Win Super Bowl LVII MVP Award: +4,000
Kansas City doesn’t have a shut-down defense like Philadelphia does. However, stud defensive lineman Chris Jones is the main reason why the Chiefs’ defense refuses to break down. Jones was named First-Team All-Pro for the very first time after tying a personal best of 15.5 sacks in the regular season. The 28-year-old is in his prime and is playing the best football of his career and was instrumental in taking down the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game with two more huge sacks on Joe Burrow.
RB Isiah Pacheco
- Odds to Win Super Bowl LVII MVP Award: +5,000
Although the Chiefs don’t appear to have a strong running game given Mahomes’ eye-popping numbers through the air, young running back Isiah Pacheco is a versatile weapon who’s flying under the radar. Pacheco mustered up just 28 rushing yards against Cincinnati, but also caught five of six passes for 59 receiving yards. The seventh-round rookie out of Rutgers can also tear it up on the ground when given the opportunity, averaging a little over 70 rushing yards per game over his last 10 starts prior to the AFC Championship Game.
WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling
- Odds to Win Super Bowl LVII MVP Award: +8,000
Beyond Travis Kelce, who’s already been a favorite target of Mahomes since Day 1, there hasn’t been a receiving option who has served as the clear-cut second threat in KC’s aerial attack. But during the playoffs, former Green Bay Packer Marquez Valdes-Scantling has emerged as a viable downfield threat. Valdes-Scantling set new season-highs of eight targets and six catches for 116 receiving yards against the Bengals. He also found the end zone in each of his two postseason starts, so there should be more attention given by the Eagles’ defensive secondary when MVS makes his Super Bowl debut.
