How Did the Avalanche get into the 2022 Stanley Cup Final? 







The Colorado Avalanche finished the regular season with the best record in the Western Conference and was the runner-up to the Presidents’ Trophy just three points behind the Eastern Conference’s Florida Panthers. The Avs swept both its first-round and Western Conference Final opponents in the Nashville Predators and the Edmonton Oilers, respectively, whereas the St. Louis Blues posed as their stiffest challenge this postseason in a second-round series that Colorado needed to win in six games.

After such an amazing campaign thus far, the Avalanche are currently (-189) favorites to win the 2022 Stanley Cup Final. It’s been over two decades since Colorado won the Stanley Cup, with the team last winning it all in 2001 in a seven-game SCF thriller against the New Jersey Devils. The Avs won one other Stanley Cup back in 1996, wherein they swept the aforementioned Panthers in four games.



What teams are in the 2022 Stanley Cup Final?



Facing the Avalanche in the Stanley Cup Final this year are the Tampa Bay Lightning, who are currently (+156) underdogs to win the series. The Lightning are gunning for their third-consecutive NHL championship victory, which means the Avs will have a lot on their hands trying to put an end to Tampa Bay’s dynastic run despite being the current favorites to win the entire SCF.
