New York Jets 2023 Straight-Up Overview

For a team that went 7-10 last season, the schedule is brutal. The Jets must not only play the Bills, Dolphins, and Patriots twice, but also the NFC East. The Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and Philadelphia Eagles are in the NFC East.

The Boys, Giants, and Eagles made the playoffs last season. The Washington Commanders are better than people believe. In addition, the Jets must throw down against the Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, and the Las Vegas Raiders, the AFC West teams.

So the Jets must play two of the top divisions in football in addition to tackling their AFC East opponents. Still, although the schedule is ridiculous, Aaron Rodgers gets to throw to arguably the best group of receivers he’s ever had.

In addition to second year pro Garrett Wilson, who this season will break out and rise to the Justin Jefferson level, Allen Lazard and Mecole Hardman are also in the receivers room. Lazard and Rodgers played together at Green Bay. Hardman is a flyer who will stretch the field and open throwing lanes to Wilson.

Breece Hall was one of the best pass catching running backs in college while playing for Oklahoma State. His rookie season got cut short due to injury. If Hall is healthy, he can catch 50 to 60 balls this season.

The offensive line should be improved. Mekhi Becton is likely to settle down now that Rodgers is under center. Guard Alijah Vera-Tucker could have a breakout season.

When it comes to NYJ’s defense, the franchise could send the best in the league to the field. Robert Salah, the head coach who runs the defense, has created a 49ers’ clone. The Jets’ D is solid at every level. Sauce Gardner is already one of the NFL’s top cornerbacks.

All-in-all, the Jets have a successful season. The team has a real chance of turning the record around. Instead of 7-10, we’re going 12-5. Rodgers makes the Jets contenders but the real reason to believe NYJ wins 5 more games is because of the defense. If Rodgers and the offense makes a mistake, the D will bail out the offense.

New York Jets 2023 SU Record Prediction: 12-5

New York Jets 2023 Against the Spread Overview

NYJ went 8-9 ATS. Although there’s a chance the Jets play much better against the spread, oddsmakers have an idea of AR’s impact on the offense.

Oddsmakers also know the Jets’ defense will be one of the best in the NFL. We’d like to write the Jets go 12-5 against the spread. A likelier spread line record is 10-7.

New York Jets ATS Record Prediction: 10-7

New York Jets 2023 Over/Under Overview

The over to under in Jets games last season went 5-12. The Jets fielded one of the worst offenses in recent memory. So it makes sense why the record could be 5-12.

NYJ could turn it around sharply in 2023. There’s a possibility of an 11-6 or even 12-5 over to under record. However, the Jets D evens things. We’re going 9-8 over to under.

New York Jets 2023 Over/Under Record Prediction: 9-8
