Betting Stats On The Top Five Super Bowl LVI NFC Favorites
Based on Super Bowl LVI odds, this season the National Football Conference is a deeper conference than the AFC. Betting Stats On The Top Five NFC 2022 Super Bowl Favorites
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- Super Bowl LVI Odds: +625
- ATS: 9-7
- Moneyline: 11-5
- Over/Under Total: 9-7
Analysis: Tampa went 9-7 agianst the spread last season. Expect a similar ATS record this season.
Oddsmakers know money will flood to the Bucs to cover, which means Tom Brady and his crew are likely to face ridiculous spreads. Even though the Buccaneers show the twenty-ninth most difficult schedule in the league, there’s a great chance Tampa ends up 9-8 or even 8-9 agianst the spread this season. Tampa should improve on the moneyline. There’s a good chance the Buccaneers finish 15-2 SU. The total record won’t change much. The over will go 9-8 or 8-9.
Green Bay Packers
- Super Bowl LVI Odds: +1200
- ATS: 10-6
- Moneyline: 13-3
- Over/Under Total: 9-7
Analysis: Aaron Rodgers is in training camp. He could start in Green Bay’s second preseason game versus the New York Jets on Saturday.
No matter what Rodgers does during the preseason, his starting status during the regular season means the Packers won’t surprise anyone. Oddsmakers will set fair, not overlay or underlay but, NFL spread odds on Green Bay to cover. Because of that, we mustn’t expect a 10-6 repeat. A losing record agianst the spread is a real possibility.
The total should be similar while the Packers could end up losing a game or two on the moneyline beyond the 3 they lost in 2020. Green Bay’s schedule this season is more difficult and Rodgers may not be as motivated.
San Francisco 49ers
- Super Bowl LVI Odds: +1300
- ATS: 7-9
- Moneyline: 6-10
- Over/Under Total: 8-8
Analysis: Unless something crazy happens, the 49ers will win more games against the spread in 2021 than they did in 2020. The problem last season was that nobody picked up the slack at quarterback once Jimmy G. got hurt.
Garoppolo may not get hurt this season. But even if he does, Trey Lance is the backup. So expect the Niners to post a winning record ATS and on the moneyline. The total will end up 9-8 or 8-9.
Los Angeles Rams
- Super Bowl LVI Odds: +1400
- ATS: 9-7
- Moneyline: 10-6
- Over/Under Total: 4-12
Analysis: NFL oddsmakers miscalculated how awful former Rams’ starting quarterback Jared Goff would play, which is why the total ended up 4-12.
When it comes to over/under lines, oddsmakers are almost never that wrong. The Rams offense will be better with Matthew Stafford. Totals might be underlaid or overlaid before oddsmakers get an idea of how many more points the Rams will score with Stafford at quarterback. Don’t expect the Rams to win many more games against the spread this season than they did last season. The NFC West is a deep division.
Three of the five National Football Conference favorites to win the Super Bowl play in the NFC West. Before Week 1, oddsmakers should have a great idea of what lines to set in NFC West division matchups.
Seattle Seahawks
- Super Bowl LVI Odds: +2600
- ATS: 8-8
- Moneyline: 12-4
- Over/Under Total: 7-9
Analysis: Like the other teams in the NFC West, the Seahawks will go 9-8 ATS or 8-9 ATS. But although Seattle won’t show much change against the spread, they could on the moneyline.
The Seahawks are getting the benefit of the doubt. However, they played one of the softest schedules in the league last season. This season, Seattle faces an up and coming Arizona squad and a Rams’ team led by quarterback Matthew Stafford. Seattle could finish under .500 if the secondary doesn’t improve. The Seahawks face a top gunslinger almost every week.
The Seahawks must play against Stafford, Garoppolo or Lance, and the Cardinals’ Kyler Murray twice. Ryan Tannehill and the Tennessee Titans and Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers are also on the schedule. The total may flip to over 9-8. Seattle could end up in shootouts all season.
