TB12 Doing More with Less Yet Again

Even without the services of key players on offense such as Chris Godwin, Leonard Fournette, and Ronald Jones, living legend Tom Brady still did what he does best and put on an amazing showing with what little weapons he had to work with en route to yet another playoff win.

Brady went 29-of-37 for 271 passing yards and two touchdowns, as he connected his two best remaining receivers in Mike Evans (team-high nine catches and 117 receiving yards) and Rob Gronkowski (five catches, 31 yards) with relative ease. And even though the Bucs mustered up just 3.4 yards per carry, they still put up 106 rushing yards, with backups Ke’Shawn Vaughn and Giovani Bernard both finding the end zone as well.

In essence, Tampa Bay is built to win on both sides of the ball from what we saw in the team’s rout over the Eagles. Obviously, the biggest contributing factor to their success is none other than the unparalleled poise-under-pressure form of TB12.

Eagles Get Their Wings (and Feet) Clipped

Philadelphia, on the other hand, appeared simply outmatched by the reigning Super Bowl champs. This is still a good learning experience for second-year QB Jalen Hurts, who threw two huge interceptions and was kept in check on the ground as well with just 39 rushing yards on eight carries.

It’s unfortunate that the Eagles’ stellar running game couldn’t get itself going with the game script already having gotten out of hand early as the Bucs jumped out to a 17-0 lead in halftime and a nearly insurmountable 24-nil margin by the middle of the third quarter.

It’s now back to the drawing board for Philly, which would need to get some help for its offensive line and the team’s defensive front seven at the 2022 NFL Draft.

NFC Divisional Round Shores Ahoy for the Bucs

With the sixth-seeded San Francisco 49ers beating the Dallas Cowboys, the Buccaneers would have to wait for the outcome of Monday night’s NFC Wild Card showdown between the No. 4 Los Angeles Rams and the No. 5 Arizona Cardinals.

Brady is currently 0-2 as a Buccaneer against the Rams. Although, he did beat Sean McVay and Co. in Super Bowl LIV. Meanwhile, Brady has yet to face the Cards during his time in Tampa Bay. Regardless of who’s up next, it appears as though the Buccaneers will be favored to win at home in their Divisional Round clash on Sunday afternoon, especially considering that the Bucs are 11-1 at home dating back to the previous postseason (10-2 ATS).
