Why Bet on the Tennessee Titans?

In Tennessee’s first game, a 21-20 loss to the New York Giants, the Titans passed the ball much better than they rushed the football. Tennessee quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for 266 yards and tossed a pair of touchdowns.

Running back Derrick Henry rushed for 82 yards on 21 carries. Tennessee’s offense rushed for a total of 93 yards. One thing to note is that Tannehill completed just 60% of his passes.

The Titans defense shut down the Giants’ passing game. NYG quarterback threw for just 188 yads and a TD. Tennessee forced Jones into a pick.

But as good as the Titans were against the pass, they were just as bad at stopping the rush. Tennessee allowed 238 rushing yards from 32 carries. Giants RB Saquon Barkley looked like Walter Payton when rushing for 164 yards and a TD.

Why Bet on the Buffalo Bills?

In their first game of the season, Buffalo’s offense trounced one of the best defenses in the league. The Bills racked up 413 total yards of offense against the defending Super Bowl champion Los Angels Rams.

Behind Josh Allen’s arm and rushing ability, the Bills scored 31 points. Allen threw 3 TD passes and ran for another. Buffalo put a real beating onto Aaron Donald and his mates.

The Bills defense played one of the best games of the week. Buffalo held the Rams to 52 rushing yards and a 2.9 per carry average. Matthew Stafford had no answer for Buffalo’s pass rush. The Bills sacked the L.A. quarterback 7 times. Buffalo also forced Staff into 3 picks.

Titans vs. Bills Betting Trends

  • Titans are 6-2 ATS in the last 8 games as an underdog.
  • Tennessee is 2-5 ATS in the last 7 games in September.
  • Under is 6-1 in Tennessee’s last 7 games.
  • Bills are 8-1-2 ATS versus a team with a losing record.
  • Buffalo is 5-1-1 ATS in the last 7 games.
  • Under is 6-2 in the Bills’ last 8 games versus a team with a losing record.

Titans vs. Bills Expert Betting Predictions

The Bills sure played like the Super Bowl favorite. But before dumping on Buffalo to cover, it’s important to dig deeper. Andrew Whitworth, the Rams top offensive lineman from last season, retired. Also, Stafford’s poor performance can be traced to the fact he barely played or practiced during training camp due to an elbow issue.

Los Angeles doesn’t rush the ball well. The Titans do. So even though Tennessee blew their game against the Giants and the Bills beat the defending champs, we must think hard before laying 10 points.

Tennessee’s defense is not as bad as it showed against the rush. Derrick Henry will have success versus Buffalo’s front seven. 10 points is still a lot in this league. Taking the points on the Titans makes sense.
