By Hank Blaine

The 2023-2024 College Football Bowl Season kicks off on Saturday, Dec. 16. When it comes to college football bowl games, there are plenty of options for sports bettors, which is why we pulled out the top nine bowls to have on your radar. Check out college football odds and picks for the bowls you should think about playing this bowl season.

A Closer Look at the 2023 College Football Bowls

2023 LA Bowl – UCLA Bruins vs. Boise State Broncos

  • When: Saturday, December 16th, 2023, 7:30 PM ET
  • Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
  • TV: ABC
  • Radio: AM 1150 (UCLA) // 93.1 FM KTIK “The Ticket (Boise State)
  • Live Stream: CBS Sports
  • College Football Odds: UCLA (-3.5) // Boise State (+3.5)

The Bruins are a decent team, but the Boise State Broncos are on fire. The Broncos have won 4 straight and 5 of heir last 6.

Boise will be much more fired up about this bowl game than UCLA as well. The Bruins will have some players take the game off so they can get deals through the transfer portal. That’s not the same with Boise State.

2023 LA Bowl Pick: Boise State

2023 Holiday Bowl – Louisville Cardinals vs. USC Trojans

  • When: Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: Petco Park, San Diego, CA
  • TV: FOX
  • Radio: 93.9 The Ville (Louisville) // AM 790 KABC (USC)
  • Live Stream: FOX Sports
  • College Football Odds: Louisville (-7.5) // USC (+7.5)

Louisville finished their final two games on a down note. Jeff Brohm’s squad lost to Kentucky and then to Florida State in the ACC Championship.

USC will be without Caleb Williams, though. It’s difficult seeing the Trojans, which has a terrible defense keeping it close, versus a Cardinals’ squad that can put up points.

2023 Holiday Bowl Pick: Louisville

2023 Texas Bowl – Texas A&M Aggies vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys

  • When: Wednesday, December 27th, 2023, 9:00 PM ET
  • Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
  • TV: ESPN
  • Radio: 1150 The Zone (Texas A&M) // 101.1 KVRO (Oklahoma State)
  • Live Stream: ESPN+
  • College Football Odds: Texas A&M (-3) // Oklahoma State (+3)

Texas A&M got hit the hardest through the transfer portal. Oklahoma State will lose some players, but the Pokes performed above expectations all season long. So Oklahoma State knows how to get it done with less than 4 star and 5-star recruits, while A&M doesn’t.

2023 Texas Bowl Pick: Oklahoma State

2023 Alamo Bowl – Arizona Wildcats vs. Oklahoma Sooners

  • When: Thursday, December 28th, 2023, 9:00 PM ET
  • Where: Alamodome, San Antonio, TX
  • TV: ESPN
  • Radio: 1290 AM KCUB (Arizona) // KKHT 100.7 FM (Oklahoma)
  • Live Stream: ESPN+
  • College Football Odds: Arizona (-3) // Oklahoma (+3)

Dillon Gabriel now plays for the Oregon Ducks. Oklahoma won’t have the gun under center to hang with an Arizona offense that became one of the nation’s best towards the end of the regular season.

Also, AZ’s defense really stepped it up in the second half of the season. The Wildcats cover.

2023 Alamo Bowl Pick: Arizona

2023 Cotton Bowl – Missouri Tigers vs. Ohio State Buckeyes

  • When: Friday, December 29th, 2023, 8:00 PM ET
  • Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX
  • TV: ESPN
  • Radio: KTGR 100.5 FM (Missouri) // WILE FM 97.7 (Ohio State)
  • Live Stream: ESPN+
  • College Football Odds: Missouri (-2.5) // Ohio State (+2.5)

It feels like half of Ohio State’s team is in the transfer portal. Ron Day has decided to retool the entire roster, which makes sense because when you lose to the Michigan Wolverines three seasons in a row and you’re the head coach at Ohio State, your time is limited.

Missouri is a quality squad and doesn’t have the turnover that Ohio State faces. The Tigers should have no trouble covering this popularity contest spread. If Mizzou wasn’t playing Ohio State, and people just looked at each team’s roster, the Tigers would be -6.

2023 Cotton Bowl Pick: Missouri

2023 Peach Bowl – Ole Miss Rebels vs. Penn State Nittany Lions

  • When: Saturday, December 30th, 2023, 12:00 PM ET
  • Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
  • TV: ESPN
  • Radio: 93.7 FM (Ole Miss) // CBS Sports Radio 96.5 FM (Penn State)
  • Live Stream: ESPN+
  • College Football Odds: Ole Miss (+4) // Penn State (-4)

Why is Penn Stat favored over Ole Miss? The Lions struggled all season to move the football through the air while the Rebels can score against any defense in the nation. Expect Ole Miss to prove that this season the SEC was much better than the Big Ten.

2023 Peach Bowl Pick: Ole Miss

2023 Orange Bowl – Georgia Bulldogs vs. Florida State Seminoles

  • When: Saturday, December 30th, 2023, 4:00 PM ET
  • Where: Arizona Stadium, Tucson, AZ
  • TV: CW Network Barstool
  • Radio: 680 The Fan (Georgia) // WFLA 100.7 FM (FSU)
  • Live Stream: Barstool
  • College Football Odds: Georgia (-14) // FSU (+14)

We should call this the Orange Full of Anger Bowl. The Seminoles and Bulldogs both feel they were slighted by the Selection Committee.

FSU went undefeated and still failed to notch a spot in the College Football Playoff. UGA was undefeated until losing to rival Bama in the SEC Championship. Both teams will be fired in this, but Georgia has much better players overall.

2023 Peach Bowl Pick: Georgia

2023 Rose Bowl – Alabama Crimson Tide vs. Michigan Wolverines

  • When: Monday, January 1st, 2024, 5:00 PM ET
  • Where: Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA
  • TV: ESPN
  • Radio: Tide 100.9 FM (Alabama) // WXYT-FM 97.1 FM (Michigan)
  • Live Stream: ESPN+
  • College Football Odds: Alabama (+1.5) // Michigan (-1.5)

The line opened Michigan -2 and has since gone down a half a point. More importantly, Bama was the third choice to win the National Championship but are now the second choice at +200 behind Michigan at +150.

The Wolverines didn’t play a team close to Bama’s level. Alabama could win this by more than 10.

2023 Peach Bowl Pick: Alabama

2023 Sugar Bowl – Texas Longhorns vs. Washington Huskies

  • When: Monday, January 1st, 2024, 5:00 PM ET
  • Where: Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA
  • TV: ESPN
  • Radio: KVET-AM 1300 The Zone (Texas) // 950 KJR AM (Washington)
  • Live Stream: ESPN+
  • College Football Odds: Texas (-3.5) // Washington (+3.5)

Washington is getting zero respect, which is what happened during the regular season when the Huskies beat ranked Pac-12 opponents and finished the season undefeated.

Texas is good, but the Longhorns haven’t a team, not even in the loss to Oklahoma, that’s can sniff how excellent Washington is on both sides of the football. The Texas D will face a long night containing Michael Penix and Rome Odunze.

2023 Peach Bowl Pick: Washington
