Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- When: Sunday, Nov. 5 & Sunday, Dec. 10
The Dallas Cowboys believe they’re every bit as good as the defending NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles. Philly believes they’re on a different level.
The Boys and Eagles split last season. Dallas got the win in Arlington. But Jalen Hurts didn’t play in the game.
Does that mean the Cowboys fall twice to the Eagles this season? Not necessarily. Philadelphia snuck up on a lot of teams in 2023. This season, defensive coordinators should have better strategies to contain the Eagles’ offense. Dallas and Philadelphia split their 2-game series.
2023 NFL Prediction: 1-1
Seattle Seahawks vs. San Francisco 49ers
- When: Thursday, Nov. 23 & Sunday, Dec. 10
San Francisco can win the Super Bowl and the Seattle Seahawks are a playoff contender.
The bottom line in this rivalry is that the 49ers have the much better defense. In both games, the Seahawks are going to try and outscore SF. Seattle’s offense looks fantastic on paper and should average over 24 points per game.
But the Hawks D will let them down. The Niners offense will be great and the defense could be the best in the NFL. SF goes 2-0.
2023 NFL Prediction: 49ers 2-0
Minnesota Vikings vs. Detroit Lions
- When: Sunday, Dec. 24 & Sunday, Jan. 7
Neither team sports a great defense. Both teams will send very good offenses to the field. The Vikings offense won’t be as good as Detroit’s because the Lions drafted a fantastic pass-catching running back in Jahmyr Gibbs.
However, Minnesota is tough to beat at home and this is a rivalry that tends to go to the home team. So the Vikings win 1 and the Lions win 1.
2023 NFL Prediction: 1-1
Atlanta Falcons vs. New Orleans Saints
- When: Sunday, Nov. 26 & Sunday, Jan. 7
Falcons versus Saints is one of the NFC’s most intense rivalries. Atlanta should have a decent offense. The Saints offense could end up one of the best in the NFL.
New Orleans has the better defense. Still, splits often happen in this series and the Falcons will be better in 2023 than they were in 2022.

Now, let’s take a look at some individual rivalry matchups you should consider this 2023 NFL season.
Dallas Cowboys vs. San Francisco 49ers
- When: Sunday, Oct. 8
This is a classic NFL rivalry that goes back to The Catch in 1981. The Cowboys are good enough to hang with the 49ers.
Dak Prescott’s tendency to throw interceptions, though, is the reason the Niners get the victory.
Also, as good as the Cowboys defense is, it will struggle to contain Deebo Samuel and Christian McCaffrey.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- When: Sunday, Dec. 3
The 49ers believe that if Brock Purdy hadn’t gotten hurt due to a Hassan Reddick hit in last season’s NFC Championship, San Francisco would have upset Philadelphia.
This season, SF is looking to secure the NFC’s top seed. To do so, the Niners must beat the Eagles in Philadelphia on Dec 3. Will it happen? SF is better in 2023 because they signed Javon Hargrave away from the Eagles. So, yes. It will.

New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings
- When: Sunday, Nov. 12
Saints at Vikings on Nov 12 projects as a playoff implication matchup. The Vikings have the edge because the game happens in their building.
But Minnesota’s defense should rank near the bottom this season. So Derek Carr, Michael Thomas, Chris Olave, and Alvin Kamara get it done.

Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Giants
- When: Monday, Oct. 2
The Giants know their chances of beating Philadelphia and winning the NFC East aren’t great.So the G-Men will be playing for a wildcard this season.
NYG must pick up as many conference victories as possible. Since this happens at MetLife Stadium, the Giants win.
