For most of the NBA Playoffs, the Golden State Warriors have struggled on the road. The Warriors fell to Denver, Dallas, and Memphis on the road. But in the Game 4 win over the Celtics at the TD Garden, Golden State proved their road woes are behind them. Golden State didn’t just beat the Boston Celtics in Game 4, they dominated, holding the Celtics to 40% from the field.

Jayson Tatum was good on 8-of-23 shots from the field. Tatum played better in Game 5, but the Warriors kept him from getting to the foul line. Andrew Wiggins stepped up in Game 5, scoring 26 points to lead all Golden State scorers. Wiggins has become another scorer the Warriors can count on to get buckets.

Why Bet on the Boston Celtics?

In both Game 4 and Game 5, Boston had their chances, but they couldn’t close the deal in either. In front of their fans and with their backs against the wall, we shouldn’t expect the Celtics to fold.

The key for Boston is to be aggressive on the offensive end. Too often, the Celtics settle for three-point shots when the better move would be to drive to the lane and then free up a three-point shooter or go hard to the hoop.

After winning two of the first three games, the Celtics haven’t played nearly as well. Golden State punished Boston in Game 4 and in Game 5. It’s not often that you can look at a couple of things and figure out why Boston has played so poorly, but in this series, it’s obvious. Jayson Tatum has been inconsistent. He hasn’t been as aggressive as he should be.

In Game 5, he shot 6 free throws. Compare that to Jaylen Brown who shot 10 free throws and it’s obvious Tatum isn’t driving to the hoop as much as he should. The other thing that should worry Boston fans is how the front court became nonexistent in the fifth game. Robert Williams scored 10 and Al Horford scored just 9. But although Boston has a couple of issues to work out, they should take Thursday’s matchup.

Golden State tends to take a game off when they have a lead in a series. The Warriors won’t play with close to the energy they had in Game 5. Also, Horford and Williams will step it up and Tatum should be more aggressive. Expect Boston to lock down Game 6 with a cover victory.
