If Penix Jr. is as hot on Monday versus Michigan as he was against Texas, there’s no way the Wolverines stop the Huskies from scoring 30 or more.

The Wolverines boast the best defense in the nation. Alabama had been throttling opponents, scoring over 40 against LSU and 27 versus Georgia.

This is a contrast in style, but, once again, oddsmakers are overvaluing the Big Ten squad in a CFP. Michigan beat Alabama because the Crimson Tide made bad play after bad play.

Washington won’t make bad plays. The Huskies will give up yards and points. However, Michael Penix Jr. is going to find the open receiver on every play. If Michigan blitzes Washington’s quarterback, Penix Jr. will throw deep balls to Romeo Odunze, or Ja’Lynn Polk, or Jalen McMillan.

If the Wolverines attempt to shut down the long ball, Penix will take the underneath throws to Jack Westover and Germie Bernard. No matter any way you look at it, Washington will score.

There will be a point in this game, like it was in 2 games versus Oregon, where Washington’s D stands tall and prevents a Michigan touchdown. Forcing the Wolverines to kick a field goal instead of scoring 6 will be all the Washington Huskies require to get enough separation to win the National Championship.
