Top Pick to Win the 2023 AFC Championship

Kansas City Chiefs

For the past four seasons, no team in the AFC has been as dominant as the Chiefs, who are now looking to extend their streak of AFC Championship Game appearances to half a decade. Patrick Mahomes is hungrier for another Lombardi, let alone another AFC title, and he’s doing so with a revamped offense and an average-at-best defense. For as long as Mahomes is running the show in KC, the Chiefs remain the team to beat in the conference.

Second Pick to Win the 2023 AFC Championship

Buffalo Bills

It’s been a trying season for the Bills and they still managed to weather all adversity to finish with the No. 2 seed in the AFC powered by a top-five offense and defense alike. Josh Allen has been quite reckless at times this season, but he’s also made up for his mistakes with consistent scoring production. Buffalo’s stop unit is also playing with a ton of fire as a tribute to seriously-injured safety Damar Hamlin to give the team a slight edge in motivation alone. Thus, the Bills remain a trendy pick to win Super Bowl LVII as they were projected to do so during the preseason.

Third Pick to Win the 2023 AFC Championship

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati is a quality club that has the talent and is playing well enough to win the AFC. The problem the Bengals face is beating the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday. Baltimore played Cincinnati tough with plenty of starters on the bench. If the Bengals escape what promises to be a brutal matchup versus the Edgar Allan Poes in their first playoff game without significant injuries, Cincinnati could repeat as the conference titlists.

Underdog Picks to Win the 2023 AFC Championship

Baltimore Ravens

Never count Baltimore out just yet, as this franchise has been well-run under the leadership of head coach John Harbaugh. Of course, the Ravens need star QB Lamar Jackson to play in their upcoming showdown against the Bengals (+410 favorites to win the AFC title) after weeks of nursing a knee injury. But the moment that Jackson is cleared to play on Sunday night, expect the Ravens to see a boost in bets placed as another sleeper candidate who can steal the AFC crown from their playoff rivals.

Miami Dolphins

In a similar tenuous boat as the Ravens are the Dolphins, who are down to their third-string QB entering the postseason. Although there’s a bit of optimism about the return of Tua Tagovailoa under center coming from yet another concussion issue, Miami’s dynamic wide receivers Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are also limping into the playoffs with their own injuries. The Dolphins don’t have a credible defense like the Ravens do, though, and this is what hinders them as no more than a longshot to win the AFC Championship Game this season.
