2023 NFC Championship Odds Update

By Jeff Stinger

It may seem that the NFC playoff picture is very top-heavy with the Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers seemingly a cut above the rest. However, let’s remember that the 2022 NFL regular season was extremely unpredictable in general and that several teams from the conference could shock the entire field.

Nitrobetting is ready to equip its bettors with the latest news, odds, and special features for the entire duration of the 2022-23 NFL season. Here’s an overview of the favorites, sleepers, and longshots to win the NFC Championship, as well as the corresponding NFL odds of the teams covered here.

Top Pick to Win the 2023 NFC Championship

Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles were in danger of freefalling their way into the postseason until Jalen Hurts returned from a brief bout with an injury to win in Week 18 to give his team some momentum entering the postseason. That victory meant that they hung on to the top seed in the NFC and a first-round bye in the playoffs to get healthy. Philly has a top-five offense and an experienced defense. Few teams in the conference come close to Philadelphia’s balance, hence why they’re a co-favorite to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LVII.

Second Pick to Win the 2023 NFC Championship

San Francisco 49ers

In their first seven games, the 49ers went 3-4 straight up. But since losing a contest to the Kansas City Chiefs, SF has rolled. San Francisco will enter their wild card game versus the Seattle Seahawks on a massive 9-game winning streak. During the streak, the 49ers have beaten the Chargers, Dolphins, Seahawks, and Buccaneers, four playoff squads. The Niners have played better with rookie Brock Purdy under center than Jimmy Garoppolo. Also, San Francisco’s defense rates as the league’s top unit. Heading into the NFL’s postseason, SF looks as solid as it gets to win the NFC.

Third Pick to Win the 2023 NFC Championship

Minnesota Vikings

Is Minny’s amazing string of luck about to run out? Following a baffling streak of 11 straight wins of games decided by a single possession, the Vikings were humbled in Week 17 by division rival Green Bay in a huge rout in Lambeau. Still, Minnesota has an extremely potent offense led by the pairing of Kirk Cousins and Justin Jefferson. If the Vikes find a way to get stud running back Dalvin Cook more involved in their game plan and if the defense continues to bend and not break entirely, their chances of winning the NFC title as mere sleeper candidates are still as good as any.

Underdog Picks to Win the 2023 NFC Championship

New York Giants

A ton of credit must be given to New York’s first-year head coach Brain Daboll for turning around the struggling Big Apple franchise. The Giants are playing smarter football, with Daniel Jones’ ball protection under center being a huge factor in their success this season. Coupled with a bruising rushing attack from Saquon Barkley and an above-average defense, the G-Men might just have another magical run to the Super Bowl as they’ve previously done so with less-than-impressive squads in the recent past during the Eli Manning era.

Seattle Seahawks

Similar to the Giants, the Seahawks had low expectations during the postseason, especially after they shipped their franchise QB Russell Wilson to Denver. However, head coach Pete Carroll proved why he’s a Super Bowl-winning leader by giving Geno Smith a second life in the league. Smith is a smart and efficient play-caller worthy of winning this season’s Comeback Player of the Year award and rookie running back Kenneth Walker III is also a scary threat out of the backfield. However, an early date against the 49ers in the NFC Wild Card Round smells of a clean three-game sweep of the Niners this season. Thus, the Seahawks can be seen as no more than a longshot to represent the NFC in Super Bowl LVII.
