As the 2023-2024 NCAAF Season approaches, it makes sense for us to consider future plays. One of the most popular is to back teams to go over or under game totals. Below are five game win totals you should consider backing. We also add five win totals you should avoid like the plague.

5 Win Totals to Bet
Wisconsin Badgers
- 2023 College Football Win Total: Over 8.5 -124
As soon as Luke Fickell took the job in Madison, he went to work. Fickell transferred plenty of talent, including Tanner Mordecai from SMU and Oklahoma.
Mordecai will run Fickell’s offense. Also, the Badgers toughest road game is at Illinois. The Buckeyes travel to Wisconsin as do the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Arizona Wildcats
- 2023 College Football Win Total: Over 5.5 +124
Coach Jedd Fisch is a great recruiter and has learned how to use the transfer portal. For the first time in a long time, Zona returns it’s starting quarterback, Jayden de Laura, and a stable offensive line.
We count 6 wins: Northern Arizona, UTEP, Stanford, Washington State, Colorado, and Arizona State. If the Wildcats upset UCLA or Oregon State, they could get 7 victories.
Washington Huskies
- 2023 College Football Win Total: Over 9.5 +118
Washington should start the season going 8-0, which includes a home win against the rival Oregon Ducks. If it happens, the Huskies will have to win 2 of their final 4 games to reach 10 victories.
The final four games happen at USC, versus Utah, at Oregon State and versus Washington State. The Huskies should have no trouble getting by the Beavers and the Cougars.
UCLA Bruins
- 2023 College Football Win Total: Under 8.5
UCLA should lose at least 4 games this season. The Bruins must travel to San Diego State, Utah, Oregon State, Arizona, and USC. Those are 5 possible losses.
Even if UCLA wins 2-of-5, a fourth loss will come versus Washington State, Arizona State, or Cal. Why? UCLA doesn’t have a quarterback that can post the stats that Dorian-Thompson Robinson did.
Alabama Crimson Tide
- 2023 College Football Win Total: Under 10.5
We know. We’re going against Nick Saban and every college football expert analyst out there. But read our thoughts first before saying we’re out of our minds.
Alabama lost 2 games last season, at Tennessee and at LSU, and Bryce Young was their quarterback. So, now, Bama must beat Kentucky, Tennessee, LSU, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Arkansas, and the Texas Longhorns without Bryce Young. Our guess is that Bama loses at least 2 of those games.
5 Win Totals to Avoid
Arkansas Razorbacks
- 2023 College Football Win Total: 7.5
It’s difficult to get a bead on the 2023 Arkansas Razorbacks. The Hogs have a difficult schedule. Arkansas has road games versus Alabama, Ole Miss, LSU, and Florida.
BYU is a non-conference opponent. Texas A&M and Mississippi State should be better than Arkansas this season. So it’s difficult to go either way when it comes to the Hogs.
Auburn Tigers
- 2023 College Football Win Total: 6.5
Auburn could win 7 games, but it won’t be easy. The Tigers are at Texas A&M, versus Georgia, and then at LSU back-to-back-to-back.
So what if they get a bye between Georgia and LSU? Auburn must still play 3 rivals in a row. Not easy. Alabama is in the annual Iron Bowl, Auburn’s final game of the season. Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Miss State aren’t for sure victories.
Baylor Bears
- 2023 College Football Win Total: 7.5
In 2 of their first 4 games, Baylor hosts Utah and Texas. That should be 2 losses, but David Aranda is a good coach and Blake Shapen is an underrated quarterback.
So we can’t say for sure Baylor starts the season 2-2. Also, the Bears must travel to Kansas State and TCU. Again, maybe, Baylor wins both. But we can’t say for sure. So stay away is our advice.
Texas A&M Aggies
- 2023 College Football Win Total: 7.5
The Aggies could go either way. Texas A&M could go over the total if quarterback Connor Weigman puts it all together.
But if Weigman struggles, the Aggies could win just 7 games. A&M hosts Bama, but must travel to Miami, Ole Miss, and LSU.
Tennessee Volunteers
- 2023 College Football Win Total: 9.5
Tennessee is another team where the team’s fortunes depend on how well the quarterback plays. Josh Heupel’s system revolves around great quarterback play.
So if Joe Milton III steps it up, the Vols could be a force. Georgia and Bama are on the schedule. So is Texas A&M and so is underrated Kentucky. 9 wins may happen or it may not.
