2023 NFL Draft No. 1 Overall Pick Odds

Favorite

Bryce Young (QB – Alabama)

Despite not participating in the 2023 NFL Combine, many pundits predict that the Panthers will select Alabama quarterback Bryce Young with the first-overall pick in Thursday’s draft. In his final year with the Tide, Young completed 65 percent of his passes for over 3,300 yards and 32 touchdowns with just five interceptions. Young won a national title with ‘Bama in 2020 and won the Heisman Trophy the year after, as the celebrated 21-year-old prospect has all the right tools to make an immediate splash in the pros.

Dark Horse

Will Levis (QB – Kentucky)

If there was a flaw to be found in front-runner Bryce Young, it would have to be Young’s relatively small frame. That’s where the speculations of Kentucky’s Will Levis come into play as the sleeper pick that Carolina will also consider taking with the first-overall pick. At 6-foot-4 and with a cannon of an arm, Levis is built more like a prototypical NFL QB than Young. However, Levis’ accuracy – a 42-23 TD-INT ratio over his last two seasons with the Wildcats – is what’s holding back the 23-year-old’s chances of being the Panthers’ face of the future.

Huge Reach

C.J. Stroud (QB – Ohio State)

Ohio State continues to deliver one glowing prospect after another, and the successor to Justin Fields in Columbus, C.J. Stroud, also blossomed into one of the best gunslingers in college football. Over the two years of helming the Buckeyes’ offense, Stroud amassed 7,775 passing yards and 81 passing TDs to just 12 picks while completing 69.3 percent of his passes. Stroud is very accurate and smart with the ball in his hands, but his arm strength and relative lack of mobility compared to real dual-threat quarterbacks in the NFL caps his potential to become the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

Anthony Richardson (QB – Florida)

The one QB prospect that turned the most heads during the 2023 NFL Combine has got to be Florida’s Anthony Richardson, who became a viral sensation on social media with his impressive 40-yard dash and amazing arm power. However, that honeymoon period at the combine has come and gone in an instant as it’s clear that Richardson’s inaccuracy (25-15 TD INT ratio across three seasons with the Gators) is his biggest liability. There’s a lot of untapped potential for the 20-year-old dual-threat QB, but Richardson is likely to fall to another QB-starved team later on in the first round of the draft.
