Minnesota Vikings vs. Philadelphia Eagles
- When: Thursday, September 14th, 2023. 8:15pm EST.
- Where: Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA
- NFL Odds: Vikings (+7) // Eagles (-7)
The Vikings offense and defense will struggle in this. Minnesota’s offense has almost zero shot of keeping the Eagles from scoring 30 or more. Minnesota’s offensive line will struggle against the Eagles’ pass rush. Philly covers.

Green Bay Packers vs. Atlanta Falcons
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
- NFL Odds: Packers (+7) // Falcons (-7)
On Monday, the line was Atlanta -1.5. So much money has landed on Green Bay that the Packers are now -2 favorites.
Even at -2, Green Bay should have no trouble covering because the Packers’ defense is well-suited to contain Bijan Robinson and pressure Desmond Ridder. On offense, Jordan Love showed he’s a legit QB1.

Las Vegas Raiders vs. Buffalo Bills
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, NY
- NFL Odds: Raiders (+9) // Bills (-9)
Buffalo handed the New York Jets the win. So, for sure, Buffalo will play better on Sunday. But giving up close to 10 points to a team with a Super Bowl runner-up quarterback is asking a lot.
Jimmy G. easily ran the Raiders offense in NFL Week 1. The Raiders’ defense also stepped it up. Las Vegas will push Buffalo the whole way. So taking the 9.5 makes sense.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: Highmark Stadium, Orchard Park, NY
- NFL Odds: Ravens (+3.5) // Bengals (-3.5)
Cincinnati will play better in their second game than how they did in their first. Joe Burrow didn’t play during the preseason and went into the game versus the Browns cold.
But even if Cincinnati plays better, covering a -3.5 spread against a midseason form squad like Baltimore won’t happen. The Ravens looked great when trouncing the Houston Texans in their first matchup. Take the points to cash.

Seattle Seahawks vs. Detroit Lions
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
- NFL Odds: Seahawks (+3.5) // Lions (-3.5)
Based in their first game of the season, the Lions should easily cover. But although Seattle lost to a bad team in the Rams and the Lions upset the Chiefs on the road, Detroit winning this by 6 points is a tall order.
The Seahawks aren’t as bad as they showed. So Seattle should get some things going on offense versus a Detroit defense that isn’t as good as it showed.

Los Angeles Chargers vs. Tennessee Titans
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: Nissan Stadium, Nashville, TN
- NFL Odds: Chargers (-3) // Titans (+3)
Tennessee will have a lot of trouble in this. The Titans will struggle to score points against a decent Bolts defense.
On offense, Ryan Tannehill will struggle because the Chargers’ D will do a decent job containing Derrick Henry. Titans fall by more than 3.5.

Chicago Bears vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL
- NFL Odds: Bears (-3) // Buccaneers (+3)
The Buccaneers played a solid game in every phase in the NFL Week 1 victory over the Vikings.
We can make a case for Chicago’s offense to score some points in this. But Tampa’s offense will dominate the Bears’ terrible defense. Bucs roll.

Kansas City Chiefs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: EverBank Stadium, Jacksonville, FL
- NFL Odds: Chiefs (-3) // Jaguars (+3)
Chris Jones signed an extension. So Kansas City’s best defensive player could be on the field on Sunday. But even if Jones plays, Jacksonville covers the spread.
The Jags have the overall better defense. Also, Travis Kelce is listed as questionable. So without a full strength TK, Magic Mahomes and the KC offense will continue to struggle.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Houston Texans
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 1:00pm EST.
- Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
- NFL Odds: Colts (-3) // Texans (+3)
Both C.J. Stroud and Anthony Richardson played well in their first professional games. Richardson, though, impressed, almost mounting a comeback victory over the favored Jaguars.
The Colts are better than Houston on both sides of the ball. So we should expect Richardson to get the first win of his pro career.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams
- When: Sunday, September 17th, 2023. 4:05pm EST.
- Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
- NFL Odds: 49ers (-3) // Rams (+3)
The Rams impressed big time when dominating the Seahawks at Lumen Field. But beating Seattle and then covering against the most complete team in the NFL is another matter.
San Francisco has a terrific pass rush and Cooper Kupp will be on the sidelines, which means Matthew Stafford won’t have his top outlet receiver. SF’s offense is also exceptional. So the Rams defense won’t hold the 49ers to 13 points like it did the Seahawks.

New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals

- Where: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, AZ
- NFL Odds: Giants (-5.5) // Cardinals (+5.5)
The Giants let the game versus Dallas get away from them. NYG panicked after the Boys scored the first touchdown via a blocked field goal and run back.
Then once Daniel Jones through the 2-yard pick 6, it was over. The G-Men won’t play that badly against the Cardinals. Expect a frustrated Giants team to win via blowout.

New York Jets vs. Dallas Cowboys

- NFL Odds: Jets (+8) // Cowboys (-8)
People keep talking about how fantastic the Cowboys’ defense is. To be fair, the Giants had a lot of success on the first drive that ended in the field goal run back for 6.
So we must put things in perspective. The Jets’ may have the better overall defense in this game. If NYJ keeps it simple for Zach Wilson, the Jets will have a chance to win this straight up. Taking the 9.5 points is a no-brainer.

Washington Commanders vs. Denver Broncos

- Where: Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, CO
- NFL Odds: Commanders (+3.5) // Broncos (-3.5)
Denver had a tough first game. The goods news is that although they lost, Russell Wilson played a great game when throwing for a pair of TDs and not tossing a pick.
Washington struggled to get by Arizona. That could have been more nerves than anything else. D.C. figures to play relaxed on Sunday. The hook projects as the all important factor.

Miami Dolphins vs. New England Patriots

- NFL Odds: Dolphins (-2.5) // Patriots (+2.5)
Sure, Miami looked great when beating the Los Angeles Chargers in L.A. But let's not get ahead of ourselves.
This happens in New England. Not only that, but Mac Jones had the Patriots in position to upset the defending NFC champion Philadelphia Eagles. Jones and the Patriots are the pick.

New Orleans Saints vs. Carolina Panthers
- When: Monday, September 18th, 2023. 7:15pm EST.
- Where: Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, NC
- NFL Odds: Saints (-3) // Panthers (+3)
The Saints picked off Ryan Tannehill three times and sacked him three times. Carolina’s offensive line isn’t as good as Tennessee’s. Also, Bryce Young is a rookie. He is a great talent. But he’s still a rookie. Saints cover.
2023 NFL Week 2 Pick: New England Patriots
Cleveland Browns vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
- When: Monday, September 18th, 2023. 8:20pm EST.
- Where: Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA
- NFL Odds: Browns (-3) // Steelers (+3)
The Browns looked good, but Cleveland always struggles on the road against the Steelers. Almost as important?
Losing the way Pittsburgh did to San Francisco was bad. However, the Steelers didn’t quit and Kenny Pickett kept at it. The Browns defense isn’t as good overall as SF’s while Cleveland’s offense doesn’t have a triumvirate like George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Christian McCaffrey. We’re taking the points.
