Why Bet on the Denver Broncos?

It just keeps getting worse for the Denver Broncos, who’ve lost four straight following their 16-9 loss to the New York Jets in Week 7. Things are looking bleak in Mile High as the Broncos are 2-5 and nowhere near living up to their preseason expectations.

With injured and struggling quarterback Russell Wilson sitting out this past Sunday’s contest, backup quarterback Brett Rypien didn’t cause a bright spark for the offense at all. Rypien was held without a touchdown by the Jets’ defense and finished with 24 completions on 46 passes for 225 yards and an interception. Denver has the most inept offense in the NFL right now, averaging just 14.3 points per game and rarely finding the end zone at that.

On a positive note, the Broncos’ defense is still keeping them from bottoming out entirely. They have one of the best stop units in the league; one that’s ranked second both in yards allowed (286.0 YAPG) and points allowed per game (16.4 PAPG). At the sad rate that the offense is producing points, it might be up to this D to start generating defensive scores just to keep the Broncos competitive until the very end of Sunday’s affair in the UK.

Why Bet on the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Just like the Broncos, the Jacksonville Jaguars enter Week 8 having lost four consecutive games while also sharing a lackluster 2-5 record. Although, the Jags nearly gave the high-flying New York Giants a scare as the G-Men barely escaped Duval with a 23-17 victory.

Jacksonville held two separate leads in their Week 7 matchup against the Giants thanks to a decent performance from second-year QB Trevor Lawrence. The first-overall pick from last year’s NFL Draft threw for 310 passing yards and no turnovers, albeit without a passing score as well. Fellow sophomore Travis Etienne scored his first NFL TD and ran for 114 rushing yards on 14 carries, but did commit a costly fumble in the second quarter that gave New York the lead at halftime.

There are still some kinks to the Jags’ game plan as they continue to come up short in scoring situations. At least the defense is still playing relatively well, as Jacksonville is just one of 11 teams to allow an average of fewer than 20 points per game to opponents (19.6 PAPG). The Jaguars are also middle-of-the-pack with nine takeaways for the season but could feast upon Denver’s offense to the delight of their British fans in attendance.

Broncos vs. Jaguars Betting Trends

  • The Broncos are currently on a six-game road losing streak (1-5 ATS).
  • The Broncos are 3-1 against the Jags since 2013 (2-2 ATS).
  • The totals went under in six of Denver’s last eight road games.
  • The Jaguars are 4-2 in their last six return trips to London.
  • The Jags are 3-4 against teams from the AFC West since 2019 (SU/ATS).
  • The totals went over in three of Jacksonville’s last five games in general.

Broncos vs. Jaguars Expert Betting Predictions

It’s tough deciding between two teams in unfortunate skids right now, especially with the sun’s rays under the English sun putting this contest under the bright lights. The Jags have fared rather well in Europe ever since team owner Shad Khan agreed to send his team to the UK every year, so they get the slight edge in this matchup that hopefully won’t leave the Brits with a dud of a contest when all is said and done.
