Why Bet on the Dallas Cowboys?

Based on stats, Dallas has the best offense in the NFL. The Cowboys rank first in total yards per game and first in average points per contest. Ezekiel Elliot, Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper and the rest amass 460.8 yards each game. The yardage translates into an incredible 34.2 points per.

Prescott has shown no lingering effects from the injury that ended his 2020 season. The NFL MVP candidate is completing over 73.1% of his passes. Dak has thrown for 1,813 yards and 16 TDs.

Dallas’ defense is one of the top units against the rush. Opposing teams average just 86.2 yards per on the ground versus the Cowboys. But although Dallas is great versus the rush, they’re not all that great against the pass. Teams average 295 yards each game through the air. Because of Dallas’ struggles preventing the pass, opponents score a healthy average of 24.3 points each contest.

Why Bet on the Minnesota Vikings?

Minnesota’s offense is the strength of their team. Quarterback Kirk Cousins is one of the more reliable signal-callers in the NFL. If the Vikings were a better team, Cousins might be in the running for the league MVP. He’s thrown for 1,769 yards and just two picks to 13 TD passes.

Most believe running back Dalvin Cook is either the best or second best RB in the NFL. Cook can dominate any team. For all of Minnesota’s firepower, the Vikings average 24.5 points per.

Minnesota’s defense is a decent unit. It yields 22.8 points each game, which ranks thirteenth. The Vikings play a bend but don’t break, which is why opposing rushers go for an average of 128 per and opposing quarterbacks throw for 230.3 each game.

Minnesota believes that if they can hold you to field goals, Cousins and Cook will do enough on the offensive side for the win. So far, the Vikings have had limited success based on their 3-3 record.

Cowboys vs. Vikings Betting Trends

  • Cowboys are 6-0 ATS in their last 6.
  • Dallas is 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games as a favorite.
  • Over is 4-0 in the Cowboys’ last 4 games.
  • Vikings are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games.
  • Minnesota is 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games on field turf.
  • Over is 5-0 in the Vikings’ last 5 after a bye week.

Cowboys vs. Vikings Expert Betting Predictions

It’s surprising that the Dallas Cowboys aren’t more of a favorite. Yes, the Boys required overtime to beat the New England Patriots. But outside of that game, and the loss to Tampa Bay in Week 1, the Cowboys have impressed. One key stat that gets overlooked is turnover ratio.

Dallas is one of the best teams in the NFL when it comes to turnover ratio. The Cowboys have committed 7 total turnovers. The defense has 14 takeaways. A turnover ratio like the one Dallas has alludes to how well the overall team has played. Kirk Cousins is a good quarterback and Dalvin Cook is a great running back. But Dallas is one of the best teams in the NFL. The Cowboys should win and cover.
