Deebo Samuel San Francisco 49ers Trade Destinations

By Carlos Chacon

For a brief spell during this offseason, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel was not in good terms with his team; so far as removing all his 49ers ties across all his social media platforms. Thankfully, over the past few days, it seems Samuel and the Niners are in better terms with the First-Team All-Pro wideout.

However, Samuel but is still insistent that he wants to be paid like an elite wide receiver and not be used as a running back anymore despite his numbers skyrocketing due to his “wide back” role in 2021. That being said, what teams would be a good fit for Deebo if San Fran can’t come to new terms with arguably their best offensive weapon on the roster?

Nitrobetting is ready to equip its bettors with the latest news, NFL futures odds, and special features for the duration of the 2022 NFL offseason. This time, let’s explore the three best landing spots for stud San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel should Samuel and the Niners fail to reach an agreement for a contract extension.

Three Best Trade Destinations for Deebo Samuel

Green Bay Packers

Following the departure of top-five talent Davante Adams to the Raiders, the Packers have a ragtag bunch of wide receivers on their roster right now to give Aaron Rodgers even more reasons for unrest with his situation in Green Bay. Neither Allen Lazard (inconsistent), Sammy Watkins (injury-prone), Randall Cobb (old), nor Christian Watson (unproven rookie) inspire a ton of confidence. As such, Samuel could very well remedy these issues and serve as a more-than competent replacement for Adams as Green Bay’s No. 1 receiving option.

Kansas City Chiefs

Similar to the Packers’ situation, the Chiefs also lost their top wideout in Tyreek Hill this offseason (Dolphins). In fact, Kansas City even nabbed Marquez Valdes-Scantling from the Packers to try and replace Hill, as well as former Steelers standout JuJu Smith-Schuster. Finding cap room to fit someone like Samuel will vault the Chiefs back into instant Super Bowl contenders, whereas Deebo would welcome a change of scenery whilst still remaining competitive for a league title, even for the team that had recently beaten his Niners in Super Bowl LIV.

New York Jets

If Samuel is commanding top dollar for his services, though, he’s best off playing for a rebuilding team with more cash to spend on upgrades, and one of those better fits for the dual-threat wideout is New York. Not only will Samuel be the undoubted No. 1 wide receiver on the Jets’ roster who’ll likely get paid close to his asking price, but he’ll also be reunited with former Niners defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, who received nothing but praise from his old team and could help ease Samuel into his new, more prominent role in East Rutherford. The question now, though, is whether or not the 49ers will allow the Jets to keep tapping into their well.
