Why Bet on the Green Bay Packers?

The Packers defense is working through some injuries. Green Bay had looked like a team on their way to the playoffs, holding the Chargers to 20 points, the Lions to 22, and the Chiefs to 19 in 3 straight victories.

But in their last 3 games, the D has imploded. The Giants, with Tommy DeVito at the helm, scored 24 in a 24-22 Green Bay loss. Baker Mayfield and Tampa Bay dropped 34 onto Green Bay in a stunning 34-20 Tampa victory.

Although Green Bay beat Carolina, Bryce Young and the Panthers scored 30. The Packers defense faces an okay but not great offense on Sunday night. So Green Bay’s D could have more luck.

The offense is playing okay, but it’s stumbled in 2 of Green Bay’s last couple of games. Jordan Love didn’t play great in either the loss to the Giants or the loss to the Buccaneers.

Love stepped it up against the Panthers. The Panthers defense isn’t close to Minnesota’s. So before we say Green Bay’s offense is back to playing it’s best football, Love and the Packers must prove it on Sunday night against a Brian Flores coached defense.

Why Bet on the Minnesota Vikings?

The Vikings defense is playing terrific football, which is the reason why Minnesota remains a playoff contender. If not for Brian Flores’ unit, the Vikings would have been eliminated from playoff contention in NFL Week 12.

Minnesota beat the Raiders 3-0 a few games ago specifically because the D stepped it up. The only reason Minnesota had a chance to beat the Bengals in overtime in NFL Week 15 is because of the defense.

The offense has struggled, but Nick Mullens and his mates played well against the Detroit Lions in NFL Week 16. Detroit won the game because they are the better overall team.

Mullens and the Vikings’ offense did their part, posting 24 points. If not for Mullens’ 4 interceptions, the Vikings may have won. Mullens must cut down on the picks in this game. If he’s careful with the football, Minny should be in a position to beat the Packers.

The Green Bay defense is banged up. So Mullens will have a chance to move the football against the Packers defense. On the flip side, Jordan Love and Green Bay’s offense faces the top best defense they’ve gone against since the Chiefs D.
