Why Bet on the Baltimore Ravens?

The Ravens are 10-3 and in first place in the AFC because not only is Lamar Jackson playing like the league’s MVP, but the defense is one of the best in the NFL.

Baltimore’s D can flat out shut down an opponent. The Seahawks scored 3 in a 37-3 Baltimore win, the Bengals dropped 20 in a Baltimore win, and the Bolts, with Justin Herbert at quarterback, scored just 10 in another Ravens victory.

Sometimes, though, Baltimore’s defense has problems. Cleveland scored 33 in a Ravens’ loss and the Rams dropped 31 in a Baltimore overtime win.

Lamar Jackson could be in line for his second NFL Most Valuable Player award. Jackson has thrown for 2,934 yards and 16 touchdowns. He has just 6 interceptions so far this season.

The Ravens quarterback has also rushed for 644 yards, a 5.2 per carry average, and scored 5 rushing touchdowns. His deep ball has improved from previous seasons, which is why the Ravens have continued to score points and move the football even though their best receiver, TE Mark Andrews, is on IR.

Why Bet on the Jacksonville Jaguars?

In Jacksonville’s last couple of games, the defense has flubbed big time. For some reason, the Jags’ D has taken it on the chin.

Jacksonville gave up 31 to the Bengals in a 34-31 overtime loss. Then the Jaguars followed up the loss with another defeat, this time allowing Joe Flacco and the Browns to score 31 in a 31-27 road loss.

Trevor Lawrence is a good quarterback, Calvin Ridley is a terrific wide receiver, and Travis Etienne is a solid running back. But Lawrence, Ridley, and Etienne will struggle in this game because the Jaguars’ offensive line is having serious problems.

Cam Robinson is on IR. Walker Little, Robinson’s replacement, lists as questionable. Ezra Cleveland, who played in Litt’s place, is also questionable. The entire left side of the Jaguars’ line is a mess because Cleveland is the left guard.

Baltimore has the ultimate x-factor in Lamar Jackson. Jackson isn’t just looking to make the playoffs. Lamar wants a Super Bowl ring, which means he will do whatever it takes to get his team the win.

Expect Baltimore to punish the left side of Jacksonville’s offense line, leading to at least 1 Trevor Lawrence pick. Jackson will evade the Jaguars’ rush and get the ball to his recievers or run all over Jacksonville. Baltimore wins and covers.
