Why Bet on the TCU Horned Frogs?

The Bulldogs would much rather rush the football than throw, but if UGA must throw, Stetson Bennett can do it. UGA’s quarterback played great against Ohio State.

Bennett threw for 398 yards and 3 TDs to a single pick. Georgia also rushed for 135 yards on their way to a stunning comeback victory over Ohio State.

The Bulldogs’ defense is good against the rush. Versus the pass, though, the jury is out. Most believe UGA would have no trouble stopping Ohio State’s passing attack. But that’s not what happened. Buckeyes quarterback CJ Stroud threw for 348 yards and tossed 4 touchdowns.

The Buckeyes also rushed for 119 yards, which is something we must keep in mind when handicapping this game. Stroud rushed for 34 of those 119.

Why Bet on the Georgia Bulldogs?

Nobody should have been surprised to see TCU drop 51 points onto the Michigan defense. The Horned Frogs rank sixth in points per game with 40.3.

TCU averages 473 yards per game. The offense is balanced. Against Michigan, TCU rushed for 263 yards. Max Duggan passed for 225 yards and threw 2 TDs.

The Horned Frogs play okay defense. Michigan did score 45 points but TCU picked off quarterback JJ McCarthy twice.

The Horned Frogs also held the Maize & Blue to less than 200 yards rushing. TCU’s D knows they’re going to give up a lot of yards. So what the Horned Frogs hope to do is give up field goals while their offense scores touchdowns.

TCU vs. Georgia Betting Trends

  • Horned Frogs are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 non-conference games.
  • TCU is 10-3-1 ATS in the last 14 games.
  • Under is 4-0 in TCU’s last 4 games following an ATS win.
  • Bulldogs are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 non-conference games.
  • Georgia is 8-3 ATS in the last 11 bowl games.
  • Under is 4-0 in Georgia’s last 4 games in January.

TCU vs. Georgia Expert Betting Predictions

If Marvin Harrison Jr. hadn’t gotten hurt, Ohio State most likely would have beaten Georgia. Even with Harrison on the bench for the second half, UGA required a 50 yard miss from Buckeyes kicker Noah Ruggles to win.

TCU is a different team than Ohio State. The major difference is that the Horned Frogs can both throw and pass the ball. TCU quarterback Max Duggan will take off and run for chunks of yards if UGA plays the defense against the Frogs that they did versus TCU.

If the Dawgs concentrate on stopping the rush, Duggan will throw to the second best wide receiver in college football after Harrison Jr., Quenton Johnston. But UGA won’t stop the rush because Kendre Miller averages 6.2 yards per carry.

TCU has the better offense and Ohio State exposed how bad Georgia’s defense is in the secondary. The Horned Frogs will have a shot to win this straight up. Taking the points is the play to make.
