By Hank Blaine

Top AFC Rivalry Games to Bet in 2021

  • When: Sep. 9, 2021 – Jan. 9, 2022

Sunday, Sep. 12, 2021

Pittsburgh Steeler at Buffalo Bills

Most feel the Pittsburgh Steelers will play the NFL’s most difficult schedule. If Pittsburgh has any shot of making the playoffs, they’ll have to show something against the third favored team to win Super Bowl 56. The Bills will be out to prove they can leapfrog KC and win the AFC.

Cleveland Browns at Kansas City Chiefs

We know the Kansas City Chiefs will be a good team. Cleveland fans believe the Browns can take the next step and upset teams like the Chiefs and Bills. Upsetting the Chiefs in Week 1 would be a good sign.

Sunday, Sep. 19, 2021

Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens

Although the Ravens’ schedule is almost as difficult as Pittsburgh’s, Baltimore remains a low-priced favorite to make the playoffs. The annual Chiefs versus Ravens rivalry contest happens early in the season. The Chiefs could be 2-0 against a couple of playoff contenders after this. Or, if KC’s offensive line doesn’t gel, 0-2.

Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Is there a top AFC team the Chiefs don’t have to play this season? If things pan out the way most football fans expect, Buffalo versus Kansas City on Oct. 10 will give the winner the inside track to homefield throughout the playoffs.

Monday, Oct. 18, 2021

Buffalo Bills at Tennessee Titans

Most felt the Indianapolis Colts were the team to beat in the AFC South. A Tennessee trade for wide receiver Julio Jones and Colts’ quarterback Carson Wentz’s foot injury has made the Titans the chalk. Unless both teams implode earlier in the season, this will be a huge matchup.

Sunday, Oct. 24, 2021

Kansas City Chiefs at Tennessee Titans

Chiefs – Titans is a rematch of the 2019 AFC Championship. KC parlayed the victory into a Super Bowl win agianst the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams are different. Tennessee is more different because they signed OLB Bud Dupree from the Steelers and acquired Jones this offseason.

Thursday, Nov. 11, 2021

Baltimore Ravens at Miami Dolphins

Miami should have a decent season. But we’re asking a lot for the Dolphins to win the AFC East. But the Fins should be in the middle of a battle for a wildcard in November, which means any loss can lead to a ticket home for the playoffs.

Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021

Cleveland Browns at Baltimore Ravens

Unless the Steelers surprise, the AFC North winner should come down to Cleveland versus Baltimore. Both send quarterbacks with much to prove to the field. This game could be for the North division title.

Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022

Miami Dolphins at Tennessee Titans

This Week 17 game could be a battle between two aspiring playoff teams. Because the Colts have already suffered two close to season ending injuries, the Titans should win the AFC South. Tennessee will be playing for playoff position. Miami may require a win in this to keep their postseason hopes alive.

New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins

Bill Belichick believes the Patriots are good enough to make the playoffs. The Dolphins finished 10-6 last season. When was the last time we could say a game between New England and Miami had playoff implications?
