Why Bet on the Minnesota Vikings?

It wasn’t very pretty, but the Minnesota Vikings managed to extend their win streak to six games after escaping Washington with a close 20-17 victory over the Commanders in Week 9. This was a huge victory for the Vikes, who are now a whopping 4.5 games ahead of the rest of the NFC North pack in the standings.

Kirk Cousins had every right to flex on his plane ride back home as he led his team to overcome a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter. Cousins made up for Minnesota’s lack of a strong running game that afternoon and finished with 295 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception against his former team. He found his favorite weapon in wideout Justin Jefferson to the tune of 13 targets, seven catches, 115 receiving yards, and a trip to the end zone.

The Vikings’ defense will face its toughest test of the season in Week 10 going up against Buffalo’s explosive arsenal. Although they’re 12th in the league in scoring defense (20.1 PAPG), they’ve allowed an average of 368.1 yards per game to their opponents this season, which is eighth-worst in the NFL.

Why Bet on the Buffalo Bills?

In one of the biggest upsets of the season thus far, the Buffalo Bills saw their four-game win streak come to an end in Week 9 at the hands of the New York Jets, 20-17. This is the first time that the Jets defeated Buffalo in five tries as the Bills lose grasp of sole possession of the best record in the NFC after falling to 6-2.

Things didn’t go as planned through the air for Josh Allen, who completed just 18 of 34 passes for 205 yards and a pair of interceptions against a stingy New York defense. On the other hand, Allen did account for 86 of his team’s 134 rushing yards on the afternoon to go with two rushing touchdowns for his team’s only two trips to the end zone.

Nevertheless, the Bills are relatively healthy and still possess an elite offense that just happened to get stifled by Gang Green this past week. Not only is Buffalo ranked first in offensive yardage (416.4 YPG) and third in points scored (27.5 PPG), but the team is still the best stop unit in the NFL in scoring defense at merely 14.8 points allowed per contest. The Bills are also one of only five teams in the league to generate 15 or more defensive turnovers.

Vikings vs. Bills Betting Trends

  • The Vikings are 4-2 in the last six road games (2-3-1 ATS).
  • The Vikes have lost four straight outings as underdogs (0-4 ATS).
  • The totals went under in three of Minnesota’s last four road games.
  • The Bills have a six-game win streak at home in the regular season (4-1-1 ATS).
  • The Bills are 12-3 against teams from the NFC since 2019 (11-3-1 ATS).
  • The totals went under in four of the last five regular-season games played in Orchard Park.

Vikings vs. Bills Expert Betting Predictions

There’s no denying that the Vikings are playing great football right now. Then again, the competition that they’ve faced so far has been relatively tame and the memory of their blowout loss to the still-undefeated Eagles in Week 2 still looms heavily like a dark cloud over their otherwise glowing campaign. As such, we expect Buffalo to spoil the Vikes’ party with revenge on its mind and with Bills Mafia behind the team in full force this week.
