Miami Heat vs. Dallas Mavericks

After 6 games, the Miami Heat are 5-1 and tied with Washington, New York, and Chicago with the best record in the East. Heat players know their roles. Butler leads in points per game, Bam Adebayo leads in rebounds each contest, and Kyle Lowry leads in assists per match up. The Mavericks don’t have any such balance. But the Mavs are at home. So as long as Luka plays, Dallas wins and covers.

Atlanta Hawks vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Hawks, so far, haven’t played nearly as well this season as they did last season. Atlanta is a .500 team heading into the week, which should give Nets backers confidence. Brooklyn isn’t scoring nearly as many points this season as they did last season, which is one of the reasons, as of Nov. 1, they’re 3-4 ATS. Brooklyn’s defense came to play last week, though. On Oct. 29, the Nets held Indiana to 98 points. Then on Oct. 31, Brooklyn decimated the Pistons 117-91. Brooklyn has found their groove on defense, which could lead to a second straight cover victory.

Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat

The Heat have a difficult week. On Tuesday they face Luka and the Mavericks. Then on Thursday they take on Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and the Celtics. Ah, but the Celts are terrible against the spread, going 2-4 ATS in their first 6. Miami, especially if they lose on Tuesday, should come close to blowing out Boston on Thursday. Butler, Adebayo, and Lowry make for the best Big Three in the NBA. Heat roll to a victory.

Milwaukee has underperformed. That’s okay. Nobody believes that if the Bucks are healthy, they don’t make a run in the playoffs. But you can’t make the playoffs is you’re most important players are injured. Right now, Khris Middleton is suffering from an illness, Brook Lopez is out with a bad back, and Jrue Holiday is listed as questionable with an ankle injury. Unless at least one of those players step onto the court, it will be tough for the Bucks to win this game. Even if Middleton, Holiday, or both play, the Knicks should cover. NYK is 5-1 on the moneyline heading into November because Kemba Walker, R.J. Barrett, and Evan Fournier have taken pressure off Mr. Do Everything Julius Randle.

Toronto star Pascal Siakam is out until mid-November, which should set the Nets up for a cover victory as a small number road favorite. Although the Raptors have played well without Siakam, they won’t continue to do so. Both teams have turned into defensive powers. The difference, of course, is Brooklyn has scoring options for days while the Raptors must lean on Scottie Barnes and Fred VanVleet. The Nets take this SU and ATS.
