Sahith Theegala

  • 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open Odds: +4,000

In his second full season of the PGA TOUR, 24-year-old Sahith Theegala has been knocking on his first big win in the pros with a pair of top-six finishes over his first four starts of the campaign. Dating back to June of the previous season, he finished with four top-16 finishes in his last eight starts, including a career-best T2 finish at the Travelers Championship. The sky’s the limit for Theegala, whose sleeper value should not be overlooked as one of the TOUR’s fastest-rising prospects.

Matthew NeSmith

  • 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open Odds: +4,000

In terms of sleepers with terrific momentum alone, few can rival Matthew NeSmith’s current run. The South Carolina native has a streak of top-nine finishes over his last three appearances last month and there’s even a T2 finish at the Shriners Open sandwiched in between a pair of T9s during this span. NeSmith is well-rested for his first tournament since mid-October and is yet another compelling dark horse pick to win it all this week.

Mackenzie Hughes

  • 2022 Cadence Bank Houston Open Odds: +5,000

The Canucks are well-represented on the TOUR this week with the return of Mackenzie Hughes in action. Like NeSmith, the Ontario native took some time off after the ZOZO CHAMPIONSHIP in Japan held in mid-October and has his own spectacular run going as well. Hughes won his second PGA TOUR event at the Sanderson Farms Championship early last month and has finished no worse than tied for 25th place in his three starts this season. If a sleeper pick with an actual recent winning pedigree is what you’re after, then Hughes is the man for the job this week.
