2022 College Football Teams Reaching the 10 Win Mark

Reaching 10 wins in a 12-game college football season is a huge accomplishment. Some teams are regular 10-win juggernauts. Others rarely reach the 10-win mark. In the 2022 NCAA College Football Season, six teams appear destined to win at least 10 games. Check out those six squads and why they’re good bets to reach, or even eclipse, the 10-win mark.

Alabama Crimson Tide

The first rule with winning 10 games is to perform well on the road. In that sense, Alabama should go undefeated. The 5 road games are at Texas, Arkansas, LSU, and Ole Miss. Bama should beat all 5 of those opponents. The toughest home game is against Texas A&M on Oct. 8.

Because the contest happens in Tuscaloosa, Alabama figures to grab the victory. Even if the Aggies beat Bama, the Crimson Tide should have no trouble scoring at least 10 wins.

Ohio State Buckeyes

Like Alabama, Ohio State’s road games don’t appear all that difficult. The Buckeyes are at Michigan State, at Penn State, at Northwestern, and at Maryland. Victories versus Northwestern and Maryland are assured. Michigan State and Penn State will have to play their best game of the season to come close to Ohio State.

The Buckeyes offense should dominate the Spartans and Nittany Lions. The three toughest teams Ohio State plays this season are Notre Dame, Wisconsin, and Michigan. C.J. Stroud and his mates play all three of those opponents in Columbus.

USC Trojans

USC has a couple of tough games. On Oct. 15, the Trojans head to Utah to take on the Utes. Then on Nov. 26, USC hosts Notre Dame. USC should have no trouble beating every team on their schedule, even Stanford on the road, on their way to at least a 10 win season.

The Trojans have a workable schedule. Also, Lincoln Riley did a good job attracting transfers like quarterback Caleb Williams and wide receiver Joran Addison. USC is good enough to beat Notre Dame and Utah. So 12 wins is a real possibility.

Cincinnati Bearcats

Cincinnati’s toughest game is their first, a road match versus SEC squad Arkansas. The Razorbacks’ rushing attack should be fantastic in 2022. If Cincinnati escapes Arkansas with a win, the Bearcats could go undefeated. Even if the Hogs beat Cincinnati, the Bearcats should still reach 10 wins.

The road games are versus Tulsa, SMU, Central Florida, and Temple. Cincinnati lost a lot from the College Football Playoff squad. But the program has attracted quality transfers and Luke Fickell has recruited well.

The Bearcats should beat their AAC rivals and lose no more than a game this season.

NC State Wolfpack

The Wolfpack boasts zero freshman starters on offense or defense. The senior and junior laden team shows quality on both units. Also in NC State’s favor to reach 10 wins? The schedule isn’t that difficult. A game at Clemson on Oct. 1 is the only contest the Wolfpack is supposed to lose.

The other road games are at East Carolina, Syracuse, Louisville, and North Carolina. NC State should spank all four of those rivals. The toughest home game is versus Florida State on Oct. 8. If NC State takes care of business versus the teams they should beat, the Wolfpack can afford to lose to Clemson and they’d still win at least 10 games.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish

Outside of traveling to Ohio State on Sep. 3 and heading to SoCal to take on USC on Nov. 26, USC has a fairly easy schedule. The Irish must take on the Tar Heels in North Carolina and Syracuse in New York. But outside of possible losses to the Buckeyes and Trojans, Notre Dame should roll to at least 10 wins.

The Fighting Irish should field a terrific defense. So upsetting Ohio State and USC are possibilities. More than likely, though, Notre Dame finishes the regular season with a 10-2 record.
