2021 Genesis Scottish Open Recap
Australian Min Woo Lee shot a -7 on Sunday to rally to -18 overall. Lee won a playoff over Thomas Detry and Matt Fitzpatrick. Ian Poulter, Ryan Palmer, and Lucas Herbert finished at -17. This year’s favorite Jon Rahm shot a -16. At -15 were Justin Thomas and Johannes Veerman. Xander Shauffele and Jack Senior finished at -14.

Matt Fitzpatrick is on fire. The Englishman won the U.S. Open at Brookline a few weeks back. But that’s not the real reason to put him on top. The major winner tied for second in this last year. The year before, he tied fifth. Five years before, Fitzpatrick won the Genesis Scottish Open.
He ranks second in shots gained and third around the green. The odds make Fitzpatrick a slight overlay. So if you agree with the assessment, know you’re getting better than fair odds.

Rahm’s -16 from last year’s Scottish Open might be enough to win this. If he had kept it going in this last year after a 66 and 65 first and second rounds, he probably would have won.
