Daniil Medvedev vs. Yibing Wu
Wu had to qualify for a U.S. Open spot. So far, Wu is making the most of his shot. Yibing beat 31-seed Nikoloz Basilashvili in straight sets. Then in his second match, the 22-year-old bested Nuno Borges in a marathon 7-set throw down.
Top seeded Daniil Medvedev hasn’t broken a sweat. Medvedev has waltzed to the third round by beating Stefan Kozlov and Arthur Rinderknech in straight sets. Medvedev beat Kozlov by 12 games. Daniil beat Rinderknech by 9, which is why laying the 8.5 makes sense.

Nick Kyrgios vs. J.J. Wolf
Before the U.S. Open started, Nick Kyrgios said he hoped for an early exit because he’s tired. It appears Nick was messing with us because so far he’s extended his tournament. Kyrgios hasn’t just made it to the third round. He’s done so after playing a total of 9 sets, including swinging his racket for 7 sets versus Benjamin Bonzi in the second round.
Wolf upset 16-seed Roberto Bautista Agut in the first round. J.J. required 4 sets to get by Alejandro Tabilo in round 2. Overall, though, Wolf is playing better than his opponent. Let’s get us some of that +584.

Pablo Carreno Busta vs. Alex De Minaur
Carreno Busta faced a tough customer in Dominic Thiem in his first U.S. Open match. Thiem pushed Carreno Busta to 4 sets. In his second match, there were times where it looked like Pablo might implode. Alexander Bublik won the first set. Carreno Busta rallied to end Bublik’s night after set 5.
Alex De Minaur beat a couple of talented tennis players in his first 2 matches. Filip Krajinovic fell in the first round and De Minaur sent Christian Garin packing in the second. The odds imply a close match. So if you agrees, and it’s difficult not to, the best play is on De Minaur.

Andy Murray vs. Matteo Berrettini
Matteo Berrettini is one of the better men’s tennis players on the planet. But, man, the stat line in Matteo’s second round victory over Hugo Grenier does not bode well for his chances against Murray.
Berrettini beat Grenier but it could have gone either way. Matteo won his second set 7-6 (7-4). He won his third set 7-6 (9-7). In his second round match, Murray lost his first set to Emilio Nava. Andy rallied to win 3 straight sets. The odds make Murray an overlay.

Tommy Paul vs. Casper Ruud
5-seed Caspar Ruud may offer overlay odds. Paul has won both his first two matches but, wow, he had to play 5 sets in each.
Ruud required 4 sets to get by Tim Van Rijthoven. But before the tough match, Casper beat Kyle Edmund in 3 sets. Ruud gets back on track with a 3-set victory.
