2023-24 NBA Sixth Man of the Year Odds

By Jeff Stinger

Many players outside of the starting five are looking to make their mark as the 2023-24 season approaches. The league does not only recognize starters but players not in starring roles. This award is one of the youngest in the league, with the first winner named not more than four decades ago. The Sixth Man Of The Year award considers a player’s production. While team success weighs heavily, quality production by a player off the bench tends to be under the spotlight for this one.

Boston Celtics’ Malcolm Brogdon was recently awarded the Sixth Man of the Year and remains a frontrunner among a talented pool of players. With that, we go over the upcoming season’s candidates for the anticipated accolade.

The Knicks’ Immanuel Quickley nearly won the 2023 voting for the Sixth Man of the Year award. This time, the guard holds the best odds of taking home the award in the 2024 campaign. He was pivotal in boosting his team’s standings in the Eastern Conference and ascended the 2023-24 NBA Sixth Man of the Year odds table. The guard appears to peak at the right time, posting career-highs of 38 points followed by a 40-point performance. Quickley and Brogdon played quality basketball one after the other, making the race more interesting than ever.

Coming in second is Boston’s Malcolm Brogdon. The franchise demanded playmaking and secondary scoring after their Finals defeat, which Brogdon filled when he moved in the offseason. His production improved throughout the early season, but he continued to play his part in Boston’s positive regular season run, helping an offense that ranks No. 3 in the league. With injuries to the Celtics’ backcourt, the 30-year-old has been crucial on both ends of the floor.

The former Los Angeles Lakers guard proved to be an absolute weapon off the bench since signing with Sacramento. He looked comfortable playing next to former collegiate teammate De’Aaron Fox. Last season saw Monk under the spotlight more times than anticipated. Despite failing to start 76 of the Kings’ 77 regular-season games, he maintained an impressive 13.5-points per game average.

However, winning the award in a West Coast market like Sacramento can be tough, and Monk demonstrated that by barely clinging onto the top-five spot in voting. Nevertheless, with the Kings making a mark and Monk putting up 19 points per game off the bench during their playoff series against the Dubs in the most recent playoffs, we should see a more comfortable shooting guard right before us.

Jordan Poole’s run with the Dubs has come to an end. He begins a new chapter with the Washington Wizards and is an aspiring Sixth Man of the Year winner with more anticipated playing minutes. His role is expected to change, which is a question in itself since he could be a starter for the Wizards. Nevertheless, if his integration with the lineup is slower than expected, there’s a good chance he bags the award.
