It’s tricky to talk about the Heat with the potential blockbuster move that involves star point guard Damian Lillard. If they pull this off, even if it takes a toll on their depth and several young talents, the Dame, Jimmy Buckets, and Bam Adebayo trio can easily turn into the best in the Eastern Conference. There’s reason to believe that they are at least a top-three team in the East and a solid bet to bounce back from their previous Finals defeat. Without Lillard, the -185 Southeast Division favorites are likely to take a step back since losing Max Strus and Gabe Vincent and replacing them with a seasoned Josh Richardson. Maybe head coach Erik Spoelstra can get the 29-year-old back on track, but it would take plenty of work.
Atlanta finally parted ways with John Collins. Unfortunately for them, they got virtually nothing in exchange for him. Onyeka Okongwu is ready to take on more responsibility as the backup big man, while Jalen Johnson and A.J. Griffin are expected to get more minutes and play larger roles. However, it still feels like the Hawks lost plenty of talent in recent years despite the offensive brilliance of Trae Young. They remain faced with the challenge of exiting the bottom half of the playoff bracket. Their young guys could take off, so that adds more positivity to the team, yet none look like stars in the making. The Young-Murray pairing is tough to deem worthy, but maybe De’Andre Hunter can add spice to the +215 Southeast Division favorites.
Orlando capitalized on free agency, adding a few depth pieces and a veteran forward in Joe Ingles. They still had a shaky record after Markelle Fultz returned, and nearly every player on their roster should see some improvement. The Paolo Banchero-Franz Wagner pairing is an amazing look for the team, while Anthony Black is a nice addition. With moderate improvement from the young guys, the Magic should easily fight for a Play-In position or even a sixth-seed finish. A +900 Southeast Division number could improve if any of their other prospects get out of the shell.

The Jordan Pulle and Kuzma duo sounds entertaining for all, but Wizards fans have to buckle up as the organization is likely to try and tank the mid-season.
