The 2023 BMW Championship is the latest edition of the penultimate playoff event ever since the FedExCup Playoffs system was introduced back in 2007. Formerly known as the Western Open, the tournament actually has its roots going all the way back to 1899. This is only the second time that the Olympia Fields Country Club is hosting the event and the first since Jon Rahm won the event in 2020.
Similar to last week’s playoff event, a massive prize purse worth $20 million is at stake in Olympia Fields this week. And just like the FedEx St. Jude Championship, the week’s tournament also saw a whopping $5 million increase in total payout from last year’s already substantial $15 million prize pot.
Here’s how the $20 million prize money will be distributed to the top 10 finishers of the 2023 BMW Championship:
