The 96th Academy Awards takes place on Sunday, March 10. Heading into the awards ceremony, most expect Oppenheimer to sweep. The odds suggest the movie about the atom bomb creation wins Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Picture. However, in recent years, underdogs have prevailed in the golden statue ceremony. Best Supporting Actress
There are not lines
Da’Vine Joy Randolph is likely to win hands down, but we don’t back -5000 shots just to cash a ticket. Even though it’s the Oscars, we still want to make some money.
In this case, we’re going for an underdog. Jodie Foster is scorching. She recently completed a True Detective series on Max that most critics and fans claim is the best yet. Foster is top of mind right now, and she’s amazing in Nyad.

Best Supporting Actor
There are not lines
Robert Downey Jr. is the likeliest winner of the night. But, again, backing -5000 choices doesn’t mean much. So we’re taking another shot against the chalk.
This time, we’re going for Mark Ruffalo. He’s a Hollywood favorite, and Poor Things was one of the most well-received movies of the year.
Another decent choice for the upset is Sterling K. Brown. American Fiction is one of this writer’s favorite films of the past decade. Satire doesn’t happen often in movies anymore and American Fiction is awesome. Plus, it’s about a writer. So must give it props.

Best Lead Actress
There are not lines
Lily Gladstone and Emma Stone will be tough to beat. But Sandra Huller should be the favorite to win Best Actress.
If Huller loses the Oscar, she must defend herself from accusations that she murdered her husband in Anatomy of a Fall. Either voters didn’t watch the film or they didn’t pay enough attention to her amazing performance.

Best Lead Actor
There are not lines
Put a few bucks on Jeffrey Wright. Wright could pull off the upset and offers overlay odds for sure. The prediction is that a lot of votes landed on Wright. So don’t be surprised if he walks away with the Oscar.
Bradley Cooper is the other choice. Cooper spent years perfecting Leonard Bernstein’s conducting style. Coop could also upset favorite Cillian Murphy.

Best Picture
There are not lines
We have to go against Oppenheimer. -5000 odds make the movie unplayable. We’re choosing a couple of films to win Best Picture because the odds are fantastic on both.
The first is The Zone of Interest. The movie is about a Nazi who decides to create an idyllic home next to a concentration camp. We’re not joking. If you haven’t seen it, check it out.
The second is American Fiction. The film stars Jeffrey Wright as a professor who writes a novel that becomes a tremendous success, but not in the way he intended. Both are worthy of Oscar gold.
