Top Pick to Win the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix

Lando Norris, teammate Oscar Piastri, and McLaren said it was a matter of time before their cars caught up with Red Bulls. Over the summer, McLaren signed away one of Red Bull’s chief engineers, Rob Marshall.

It took Marshall some time, but in Miami, everything came together. Norris was brilliant navigating the Miami course. Once a constructor gets a driver and crew to win a single race, they can often go back to back.

So it makes sense to jump on Norris while he and McLaren are hot. The odds are more than fair considering that Marshall’s engineering wizardry may finally be taking effect.

Second Pick to Win the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix

If Marshall and McLaren have caught up to Adrian Newey and Red Bull, then Max Verstappen is a massive underlay at -400. But if Norris’ victory in Miami was an anomaly, then Max will be right where he was before the race in South Florida, standing on the podium’s top spot.

The key for us as F1 bettors is to handicap the odds. Verstappen had fallen to -600 in the last race. So at -400, he could be an overlay if you believe Norris got lucky. We believe Norris and\ McLaren have caught up to Verstappen and Red Bull, which is why we pick Max second.

Third Pick to Win the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix

At the Chinese Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc finished fourth. Then in Miami, Leclerc finished third. There’s really no reason to believe Leclerc doesn’t finish third again.

Ferrari has some work to do before catching McLaren or Red Bull. Once they do catch up, though, Leclerc is going to be difficult to beat. The third pick remains one of the best drivers at F1. The problem is his ride is never fast enough. Will things change on Sunday? Probably not.

Top Underdog Pick to Win the 2024 Monaco Grand Prix

Sergio Perez finished third in Chinga and fourth in Miami. Red Bull’s second driver should have another terrific top five finish.

But with Norris stepping it up, it’s going to be difficult for Perez to finish in the top three unless Leclerc fumbles in some way. The odds make Perez an underlay to beat both Norris and Verstappen. But if you think this is the race Sergio wins, Perez often takes at least one checkered flag each season, then go for it.
