Hendrick Motorsports driver Kyle Larson scored the victory last Sunday at the Pennzoil 400 while leading 181 laps. Larson hopes to go back to back when he steps into his stock car on Sunday at Phoenix Raceway in the 2024 Shriners Children’s 500. Is Larson a good pick to win another? Or will 2023 winner William Byron upset his teammate?

Top Choice to Win the 2024 Shriners Children’s 500
The defending champion hasn’t had bad runs since the Daytona victory. At Atlanta, William Byron finished a decent seventeenth.
Following Atlanta, the Hendrick driver started fourth in Las Vegas at the Pennzoil 400. He finished tenth. So far this season, Byron has a win and a tenth out of three races. That’s decent for sure.
William knows this track and won this race last season when it was the United Rentals Works United 500. This is a good spot to back William Byron to score his first checkered flag of 2024.
Second Choice to Win the 2024 Shriner’s Children’s 500
The defending NASCAR Cup champ finished second in Atlanta and third in Las Vegas. He’s driving about as well to start 2024 as he did to end 2023.
Last year, Ryan Blaney finished second behind Byron in this. The +700 second choice behind Larson, Blaney should be in the running for the checkered flag in the final 20 laps or so. If you believe Ryan is the one that scores the trophy, by all means, pull the trigger.
Third Choice to Win the 2024 Shriners Children’s 500
Kyle Busch finished a decent eighth in this in 2023. Kyle led 18 laps in Vegas, but he faded to twenty-sixth. However, before Vegas, Busch had been driving great, scoring a twelfth place finish at Dayton and following it up with a third at Vegas.
If Busch can score a decent pole position on Friday, watch out. Kyle’s car should be fast enough to win this.
Top Underdog to Win the 2024 Shriners Children’s 500
Considering he was coming off a pair of thirty-third place finishes at Daytona and Atlanta, Keselowski’s thirteenth at Las Vegas wasn’t bad at all.
Keselowski feels he and his crew are due to bounce back to the former glory days this year. If it’s going to happen, the bounce back could start on Sunday. At the odds, Brad Keselowski is a decent play to get it done.
