Alcaraz vs. Tsitsipas 2023 French Open Odds and Preview – June 6th

By Jeff Stinger

The biggest match of the 2023 French Open thus far is on the horizon, as top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz takes on No. 5 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas this Tuesday. Both men have been in the quarters of Roland Garros before, but only one of them will get to advance to the final-four stage in Paris.

Nitrobetting is ready to volley the latest tennis news, odds, and updates all year round. Let’s break down the upcoming quarterfinal match of the 2023 French Open men’s singles tournament between Carlos Alcaraz and Stefanos Tsitsipas.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas Match Information

Why Bet on Carlos Alcaraz?

20-year-old sensation Carlos Alcaraz is on the warpath on the clay courts of the ATP Tour, recently taking down another challenger in the fourth round of the 2023 French Open. Lorenzo Musetti is the latest to fall victim to Alcaraz’s wrath, with the latter coasting to a straight-sets victory over the former, 6-3, 6-2, 6-2.

Alcaraz secured 99 winners to just 66 for Musetti, as the young Spaniard builds upon his already-amazing track record on clay this season. Alcaraz won two tournaments on the red courts in his home country in Madrid and Barcelona, with his win in Barca being one over his upcoming opponent Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.

Not only did Alcaraz beat Tsitsipas in straight sets in their last meeting, but the best men’s singles player in the world right now is also undefeated in four-lifetime meetings against the Greek standout. In turn, it stands to reason that Alcaraz is a relatively heavy favorite even against a top-five opponent such as Tsitsipas.

Why Bet on Stefanos Tsitsipas?

Keeping his momentum in Roland Garros is Stefanos Tsitsipas, who also advanced with a straight-sets victory over his fourth-round opponent Sebastian Ofner, 7-5, 6-3, 6-0. Tsitsipas out-edged the qualifier entrant from Austria in winners, 93-66, as the No. 5 seed advanced to the quarterfinal round of the French Open for the third time in four years.

Tsitsipas has strong performances on clay himself, reaching the final eight in each of his last three appearances in clay-court tournaments. He lost to Alcaraz in the aforementioned final in Barcelona and followed that up with a quarterfinal showing in Madrid then a semifinal finish in Rome just a couple of weeks ago.

Although Tsitsipas hasn’t fared well against Alcaraz, he hasn’t been blown out that often. The 2021 French Open finalist gave Alcaraz his best in the 2022 Barcelona Open as well as the 2021 US Open as Alcaraz needed winner-take-all-set wins in each of those contests.

Carlos Alcaraz vs. Stefanos Tsitsipas Betting Trends

  • As mentioned earlier, Alcaraz has a 4-0 head-to-head record against Tsitsipas.
  • Alcaraz is currently 24-2 on clay this year.
  • Tsitsipas is now 22-6 at the French Open.
  • Tsitsipas is 38-8 on clay dating back to last season.

Alcaraz vs. Tsitsipas Expert Betting Prediction

A battle between top-five-seeded entrants should be an entertaining affair to watch. However, Alcaraz is just playing at a different level and we wouldn’t be surprised if he wins Tuesday’s quarterfinal clash in straight sets. Regardless, Alcaraz should maintain his undefeated record against Tsitsipas and advance to the semifinal round of Roland Garros for the first time in his career.
