Arizona Cardinals 2023 Straight-Up Overview
Zona drafted Ohio State offensive lineman Paris Johnson Jr. in the first round. Johnson Jr. will start at left guard to the inside of left tackle D.J. Humphries.
Shoring up the offensive line was priority number one because Arizona believes in quarterback Kyler Murray. But even if Murray returns to the field one-hundred percent, it’s doubtful he posts stats anything close to 2021.
AZ parted ways with DeAndre Hopkins, which means the new WR1 is Marquise Brown. Marquise is a good wide receiver. He’s not a WR1.
Same goes for James Conner. The former Steeler is a good running back. But he’s not an RB1. The defense is okay but not great. So the Cards will have a bad betting season on the money line.
Wins against the Rams on the road and at home, the Texans on the road, and, maybe, Atlanta at home feel like the ceiling. So a 4-13 record is the call.

How? If Arizona loses their first 5 games, the public will devalue Arizona’s chances against teams like the Rams and over play the Cardinals’ opponents to cover spreads against Zona. So although Arizona will be a bad team, they will cover more spreads this season than they lose.

Who knows when, or if Murray gets onto the football field. Colt McCoy remains the backup quarterback. So Zona won’t score a lot of points.

When Arizona faces a high-scoring team, like the Cincinnati Bengals or Dallas Cowboys, the game total will be higher than when Zona faces a team that will struggle to score, like the Los Angeles Rams.
Because the game totals will be fair, we should expect Arizona Cardinals’ games to go 9-8 or 8-9 over-to-under.
