Chris Colbert vs. Jose Valenzuela

27-year-old Chris Colbert has a terrific 17-1 record with 6 stoppage victories. Colbert’s loss came in 2022 versus then 14-0 Hector Luis Garcia. The loss came via unanimous decision. Not only did Garcia not KO Colbert, but Chris bounced back with a nice 10-round decision victory over Saturday’s opponent, Jose Valenzuela.

Valenzuela had dropped his previous match via third-round knockout. Edwin de Los Santos had beaten Valenzuela. 2 straight losses is a sign Jose may be on the downturn of his career already. Most believe Valenzuela bounces back, but Colbert will have confidence heading into this one. Chris takes the victory.

David Morrell Jr. vs. Sena Agbeko

Morell is so well-regarded that after only 9 bouts, he’s fighting for the super middleweight title. Morell has beaten all of his opponents. He’s taken down 8 of his opponents via knockout or technical knockout.

Sena Agbeko is 28-2 with 22 knockout or technical knockout wins. Agbeko has more professional experience but doesn’t have the skills to hang with Morrell. This should end before Round 6 begins, possibly before Round 5 starts, via a David Morrell Jr. knockout victory.

8-1-1 with 6 stoppage victories, U.S. based boxer Ja’Rico O’Quinn has some talent. O’Quinn bounced back from a loss to Saul Sanchez in 2021 to beat Jobert Alvarez and Carlos Mujica via unanimous decision.

McGrail is one of those up and coming pugilists from the United Kingdom. Peter has won 8 of the bouts on his undefeated record via TKO or KO. McGrail looks tough to beat, but O’Quinn has much more experience and it’s legit experience. Taking a shot on the underdog makes sense.

Murodjon Akhmadaliev vs. Kevin Gonzalez

11-1 with 8 knockout victories, Murodjon Akhmadaliev had dominated the super bantamweight division until his last bout, an April matchup against then 36-3 Marlon Tapales. Marlon bested Akhmadaliev via 12-round split-decision.

Underdog Kevin Gonzalez sports a dynamite 26-0-1 record. Gonzalez hasn’t fought the level of boxers Akhmadaliev has, but Kevin has won via knockout, technical knockout, and unanimous decision. He’s a fast on his feet pugilist who mixes it up if required. Here’s another bout on Saturday where the dog has a better shot than the odds indicate.

Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez vs. Sunny Edwards // WBC, IBF World Flyweight Title

20-0 Sunny Edwards has terrific boxing skills, but Edwards lacks power. Sunny has stopped just 4 of his opponents. The odds suggest, though, that the underdog in this puts forth a decent effort. Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez is 18-0 with 11 stoppage wins. Rodriguez can beat an opponent in any number of ways. His favorite is to stalk his usually taller opponent, cut off the ring, land counter shots, and dominate inside.

Edwards isn’t used to fighting a relentless stalker like Bam. Rodriguez is so adept at cutting off the ring that Sunny is going to struggle to set his feet and get his jab off. Edwards will be ready, but real life in the ring is different than sparring. Bam gets another win.
