Top Boxing Betting Picks of the Week (January 26th, 2023)

Golden Boy Fight Night: Rocha vs. Ashie – YouTube Theater, Inglewood , California (DAZN)

  • When: Saturday, January. 28, 2023. 8:00pm ET.

Bektemir Melikuziev vs. Ulises Sierra // WBA Continental Americas Super Middleweight Title

Underdog Ulises Sierra has a pretty good record. Sierra is 17-2-2 with 10 stoppage victories. Only 1 of Sierra’s losses have ended in a knockout or technical knockout.

Favored Bektemir Melikuziev is 10-1 with 8 knockout or technical knockout victories. The favored fighter in this match fell to Gabriel Rosado back in 2021. Since then, Melikuziev has rocked it, beating Sergei Ekimov, David Zegarra, and Sladan Janjanin.

Melikuziev has been particularly effective in his last two bouts, knocking out Zegarra in the second round and beating Janjanin via technical knockout in the third. Bektemir wins. If you can find a decent knockout prop, consider.

Boxing Betting Pick: Bektemir Melikuziev -3333

Beterbiev vs. Yarde – Wembley Arena, London, United Kingdom (ESPN+)

  • When: Saturday, January. 28, 2023. 3:30pm ET.

Karol Itauma vs. Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna // WBC International Light Heavyweight Title

Itauma has a great 9-0 record. What’s really impressive is that Itauma has knocked out 7 of his opponents. No doubt, he should have a big shot of knocking out Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna on Saturday.

Maderna heads into this, the WBC International Light Heavyweight Championship, with a 28-10 record. Ezequiel has won 18 of his fights via stoppage. 4 of the 10 losses have come via knockout or technical knockout. Even if you give the underdog a shot, the fight should end before the fifth.

Boxing Betting Pick: Ezequiel Osvaldo Maderna Under 4.5 -115

Umar Kahn vs. Sandeep Singh Bhatti

There’s a reason Bhatti is such a big underdog. Sandeep has more professional experience than Kahn, but he has 5 losses to 8 wins.

Bhatti is the type of boxer that Kahn’s promoter looks far and wide to find. An experienced boxer who will challenge his guy but won’t challenge his guy enough to add a loss.

Bhatti has a decent chin, which should frustrate Kahn. Umar is 5-0. Kahn hasn’t knocked out an opponent yet. On Saturday, he’ll have a good chance. If you can find a KO prop, consider.

Boxing Betting Pick: Umar Kahn -2000

Artem Dalakian vs. David Jimenez // WBA World Flyweight Title

This bout should be one of this weekend’s most competitive. Slight chalk Artem Dalakian is 21- 0 with 15 knockout wins.

But although Dalakian has a great record, this is his first fight that won’t take place in his native Ukraine. Also, because of Russia’s invasion, Dalakian hasn’t fought since Nov. 2021.

12-0 David Jimenez fought last July. Jimenez beat then 20-1 Ricardo Rafael Sandoval via 12-round majority decision at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. No doubt, Jimenez has fought the better fighters.

We already know Jimenez has the more recent bouts. Dalakian has enough talent to win this, but Jimenez has remained active, and this is Dalakian’s first bout outside of Ukraine. The slight dog wins.

Boxing Betting Pick: David Jimenez -111

Artur Beterbiev vs. Anthony Yarde // WBC, WBO, IBF World Light Heavyweight Title

In Saturday’s top bout, Beterbiev puts his WBO, IBF, and WBC belts on the line versus well-regarded Anthony Yarde.

Yarde has a slight advantage because this take place at Wembley Arena and Yarde is British. But venue is Anthony’s only advantage.

Beterbiev has a rock for a chin. His hands are made from stone. Artur is 18-0 with 18 knockout or technical knockout victories. For sure, Beterbiev gets the win on Saturday.

Boxing Betting Pick: Artur Beterbiev -909
