However, that’ll be easier said than done, as the Eagles have looked every bit like their NFC title game-winning form from the previous season. Can the Commanders pull off the massive road upset on Sunday?

Why Bet on the Washington Commanders?

It was a week to forget for the Washington Commanders, who were simply outmatched by the Buffalo Bills in Week 3 to a 40-3 beatdown. That disheartening loss puts an end to Washington’s undefeated start through two weeks, further highlighting the disparity between the team’s scrappy rebuilding roster and the league’s elite.

Second-year quarterback Sam Howell had his worst NFL start by far, throwing four interceptions and being held scoreless by a stout Buffalo defense. The Commanders’ offensive line was a sieve as well, allowing a whopping nine sacks to the Bills. It was somehow a miracle that this O-line paved the way for running back Brian Robinson Jr. to run for 70 rushing yards on just 10 carries in a game that the Commies needed a better effort through the air rather than grinding things out on the ground.

This is the second straight week that the Commanders have seen their defense surrender more points to their opponents than the previous one, as they’ve now given up 36.5 points per game over the past couple of outings. It doesn’t get any easier than having to face an Eagles side that’s flying high of late.

Could this be the start of another long unbeaten run for the Philadelphia Eagles? Philadelphia went 8-0 to start last season and are now off to a 3-0 start in 2023 following the 25-11 victory in Monday Night Football Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Jalen Hurts proved yet again why he’s one of the five best QBs in the business right now, overcoming a strong Bucs defense that picked him off twice and still managed to gain 305 all-purpose yards with one passing TD and one rushing TD. The Eagles did a great job switching things up instead, racking up 201 rushing yards on 40 carries for a solid average of five yards per carry.

Unlike Washington, Philly’s defense has improved from the previous week, holding its first opponent to 11 points or fewer for the first time this season. The Eagles do have just six sacks this season thus far, though, after being a top-five unit in that department last season.

The Eagles should still easily win this game, but their spread as relatively heavy favorites as home does leave some reservations. The Commanders have been a feisty bunch and will face a less impressive pass rush from Philly this week. We wouldn’t be surprised at all if Washington covers the spread here in a loss with the Eagles nearly failing their trap-game senses.
