Dallas Cowboys 2023 Straight-Up Overview
In the 2023 NFL Regular Season, quarterback Dak Prescott missed 5 matchups. But although Prescott played in just 12, the Cowboys finished the season 12-5.
One of the reasons was because of Dallas’ fantastic defense. Led by EDGE Micah Parsons, the Cowboys held opponents to 20.5 points per game even though two other teams in the loaded NFC East made the playoffs, the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants.
The offense ranked fourth in points per game at 27.5. So it’s not like the defense did it all by itself. But although the Boys played well last season, they face a much tougher schedule in 2023.
Facing the AFC East is a concern. There isn’t a bad team in the division. The Boys also have to travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers, to San Francisco, and to Buffalo and Miami. The traveling is in addition to facing the Giants, Commanders, and NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles twice.
We should expect 2 more losses. Instead of 12-5, Dallas will finish the season 10-7.

Dallas Cowboys 2023 Against the Spread Overview
The Cowboys went 9-7-1 against the spread last season. We shouldn’t expect much of a difference, but since the Cowboys will lose 2 more games straight up, they may also lose 2 more games against the spread.
The NFC East plays against the AFC East this season, which means Dallas will have to battle Buffalo, the Patriots, the Fins, and Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets.
So the prediction is that Dallas’ is competitive but since spreads will be so low, the Boys lose one more game ATS than they win. So instead of 9-8, or 9-7-1 like last season, the Dallas Cowboys finish 8-9 against the spread.

Dallas Cowboys 2023 Over/Under Overview
Dallas didn’t go through many changes this past offseason. The one big change was releasing Ezekiel Elliott. However, Elliott was under performing compared to RB1 Tony Pollard.
So of the two, the Boys kept the more effective rusher. Outside promoting Pollard to RB1, Dallas didn’t change much on their offense. So, if anything, the Boys could average more this season than last.
Oddsmakers know this, which is why similar odds should land for Dallas games. Expect an 8-9 or 9-8 over/under total record.
