Miami’s late surge might be for naught as they’re in a peculiar spot right on the playoff bubble as the current No. 7 seed in the AFC, while Tennessee still has the Indianapolis Colts to worry about for AFC South supremacy.

Why Bet on the Miami Dolphins?

Thanks to a fortunate matchup against an injury-ravaged New Orleans Saints squad, the Miami Dolphins picked up an easy 20-3 victory on Monday night. That win extends Miami’s win streak to seven games as the team controls its destiny for a postseason berth and maybe even the AFC East title with a little help.

Tua Tagovailoa wasn’t impressive that evening with his 198 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and one interception. However, Tagovailoa might’ve made his top receiver in Jaylen Waddle into a bona fide star. Waddle hauled in 10 of Tua’s 19 completions for 92 receiving yards and a trip to the end zone. The former ‘Bama standout is now just five receptions away from breaking the NFL record for most catches in a debut season by a rookie set by Anquan Boldin in 2003.

As impressive as Waddle was on offense, Sunday’s win over the Saints was all about the Fins’ defense. Miami gave fourth-string QB Ian Book all sorts of fits in his first NFL start, sacking the Notre Dame alum eight times and picking him off twice, with the first going for a pick-six. The Dolphins are just one of 10 teams giving up an average of 21 points or less to their opponents this season and should be a tough out for a relatively-depleted Tennessee offense.

Why Bet on the Tennessee Titans?

The Tennessee Titans rallied back from a 10-point deficit against the visiting San Francisco 49ers this past weekend and picked up a crucial 20-17 victory in the process. Not only did the 10-5 Titans avoid losing their fourth game in five tries, but they also hung on to their one-game lead atop the AFC South standings with the 9-6 Colts in hot pursuit.

Ryan Tannehill managed things under center well for Tennessee, as he went 22-of-29 for 209 passing yards and a passing TD without any turnovers. The Titans mixed their offense with a nice helping of their running game that has functioned rather well in spite of the season-ending injury to Derrick Henry, as they finished with 90 rushing yards on 24 carries.

Like the Dolphins, the Titans are counting on their defense to win their games considering their lack of offensive threats outside of wide receiver A.J. Brown (11 catches, 145 receiving yards, one TD against the Niners). Unfortunately, Tennessee’s D is just middle-of-the-pack and their minus-five turnover differential leaves a lot to be desired.

Dolphins vs. Titans Betting Trends

  • The Dolphins are 3-4 on the road this season (4-2-1 ATS).
  • The Fins are 3-2 in the last five meetings against teams from the AFC South (SU/ATS).
  • The totals went under in each of Miami’s last four road games.
  • The Titans are 6-2 at home this season (5-3 ATS).
  • The Titans are 7-3 in the last 10 regular-season games wherein they were favored to win (5-5 ATS).
  • The totals went under in all three of Tennessee’s most recent homestands.

Dolphins vs. Titans Expert Betting Predictions

As great as the Titans’ last win over a playoff contender from the NFC, the Dolphins are just playing much better football and have the clear edge in terms of momentum alone. Then again, Miami’s offense is still rather suspect, which could very well result in another close win for Mike Vrabel’s gritty gang from Tennessee.
