Then in the Elite Eight, Duke beat Arkansas, the team that had knocked out Gonzaga, 78-69.

Duke improved in every game. The team relies mostly on freshman Paolo Banchero. However, center Mark Williams and guards Wendell Moore Jr. and Jeremy roach and forward A.J. Griffin can all step it up, score in bunches, and grab boards.

Coach Krzyzewski requires no introduction. He’s taken his teams to more Final Fours than even the great John Wooden. Duke has become the best team in the nation before our eyes. Like every Final Four team this season, the Blue Devils can win the National Championship.

Odds on Duke to Win the 2022 National Championship

The +160 odds on the Duke Blue Devils to win the National Championship makes them the chalk. Historically, Coach K is great at getting his team to the Final Four, this is trip thirteen, but then Duke fails to cut down the nets. Coach K has just five titles in twelve trips. Duke hasn’t won the title since 2015. Also, North Carolina, Duke’s opponent on Saturday, beat the Blue Devils during the regular season. At the odds, Duke is an underlay.

Although a team may offer underlay odds to win the NCAA Touranment, it doesn’t mean the team won’t win the title. But in this case, the underlay odds are on a squad that should have a very difficult time beating their Final Four Semifinal rival.

Duke has turned into one of the top teams in the nation. We can even make the case that they’re the best team in the Final Four. But like Villanova, Duke didn’t have to beat the 1-seed in their region to make the Final Four. North Carolina did. Also, UNC knows Duke well and even beat the Blue Devils in the second matchup during the regular season. Finally, the Tar Heels matchup well with Duke.

So although Duke can win the title, it’s difficult seeing the Blue Devils beating their ACC rivals and playing in the National Championship tilt on Monday night. Duke bows out of the tournament in a semifinal loss to the North Carolina Tar Heels.
