Why Bet on the Philadelphia Eagles?

On offense, Jalen Hurts has turned into one of the more reliable quarterbacks in the NFL. Hurts completed just over 61% of his passes. He threw just 9 picks, though, and he averaged 5.6 yards per rush. If the Eagles use Hurts in the rushing attack, they should have some success moving the football.

On defense, the Eagles figure to surprise. Philly’s Jason Hargraves produced 7.5 sacks for one of the better lines in the league. The Eagles give up less than 108 rushing yards and less than 221 passing yards per. Darius Slay produced 3 picks.

Philadelphia will try to pressure Tom Brady with their front four. If Hargraves, Josh Sweat, Fletcher Cox, and Derek Barnett can get to Brady, the Eagles will contain the Bucs’ offense.

Why Bet on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

Tom Brady produced one of the best seasons of his career. He threw for over 5,300 yards and threw 43 touchdowns. Brady tossed just 12 interceptions.

Overall, Tampa’s offense proved unstoppable, producing a shade over 30 points per from close to 406 yards each game. If there’s a knock, it’s that Tampa doesn’t rush the football that much, averaging under 97 yards each contest.

The defense was great versus the rush, but so-so against the pass. Before jumping on the D, though, we must realize that on Sunday it will be the first time this entire season the starting secondary is healthy.

Antoine Winfield, Jordan Whitehead, Carlton Davis, and Sean Murphy-Bunting will play. So should the entire front 7, which includes Jason Pierre-Paul, Ndamukong Suh, Vita Vea, Devin White, and Shaquil Barrett.

Eagles vs. Buccaneers Expert Betting Predictions

Don’t let the regular season fool you, Tampa is loaded. The Buccaneers defense is fully healthy for the first time this season, which means Tampa should be ready to lock down on teams like the Eagles. Jalen Hurts and the Eagles face the best front 7 in football and one of the top secondaries. It remains to be seen if Hurts can handle it. Also, we shouldn’t read too much into Philadelphia’s march to the playoffs.

In their last 6 games, the Eagles played the Giants twice, the WFT twice, and the Jets. Philly lost to the Giants and the Cowboys trounced them in Week 18. Leonard Fournette returns in this game, which means Tampa Bay should have some success running the football. Philadelphia has just a small chance of keeping this one close.

Minimal rushing success will open the field for Brady to Rob Gronkowski and Mike Evans. Expect Arians to use Fournette and Ronald Jones in the passing game. Tampa is the pick to win and cover.
