Why Bet on the Atlanta Falcons?

The Falcons sit fourth in NFC South with a 2-3 record. In their last game, the team secured a win against the Jets, 27-20.

Since the start of the 2021 season, the Falcons only managed to record one 30-plus point game. They average 21.0 points (22nd) in the league, 345.6 yards (20th), and 2.4 touchdowns (23rd) per game. But after a strong win against the Jets in Week 6 with 450 total yards and 108 rushing yards, the team looks to be in good shape.

Although they are not the biggest offensive threat in the league, Atlanta finds ways to hold opponents off. The team held their opponents to 25 points or less in three of their five games, two of which were road games against the Bucs and Jets. Defensively, Atlanta ranks 31st in the league in opponent points per game at 29.6. They also have the worst average in opponent touchdowns per game at 3.8 (32nd).

The Falcons enter the game with two questionable players on the list, wide receiver Russell Gage (ankle) and free safety Erik Harris (calf).

Why Bet on the Miami Dolphins?

The Dolphins stretched their losing streak to five games after Week 6’s 23-20 loss in London to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Their 1-5 record plants the team in fourth place of the AFC East. If Brian Flores wants to turn things around, now is the best time to do so. There’s little separation between the Falcons and the Dolphins, making this one a game too close to call.

It might be underwhelming to look at the Dolphins’ numbers. Currently, the team records 16.5 points per game (29th). They were held down to 20 points to fewer in four games. But, the team managed to stay close to the Raiders in Week 3 in a 31-28 loss. This tells us that there’s some sting to the squad once they start firing on all cylinders.

On defense, the Dolphins give up 29.5 points per game (29th) and hold one of the poorest opponent touchdowns per game at 3.3 (26th). However, the team managed to hold off their opponents to 27 points or less in two of their last three games.

Four players are on the questionable list this Sunday, including two wide receivers DeVante Parker (shoulder & hamstring) and Preston Williams (groin). Left cornerback Xavien Howard and right cornerback Byron Jones might sit this game out due to groin injuries.

Falcons vs. Dolphins Betting Trends

  • The Falcons are 1-4 in their last 5 road games against the Dolphins.

  • The totals have gone over in 4 of the Falcons’ last 10 road games.
  • The Dolphins are 5-2 in their last 7 home games against the Falcons.
  • The Dolphins scored 20 points or more in 4 of their last 5 home games against the Falcons.
  • The totals have gone over in 3 of the Dolphins’ last 6 home games.

Falcons vs. Dolphins Expert Betting Predictions

The Falcons are the favorites in this contest, but not by much. Both teams share a similar record, but a recent win gives the road team some momentum. Nonetheless, we shouldn’t overlook the Dolphins in this one. They did well to defend their home stadium in the opening game with a 17-16 win against the Patriots. Furthermore, they gave the Raiders and the Jaguars a run for their money, losing the match by no more than three points. Covering the spread should be doable for the team, and they might even stand a chance at breaking the losing streak with the help of their home-field advantage.
