Georgia is healthier than Alabama

Injury wise, the Bulldogs are in better shape than the Crimson Tide. Georgia doesn’t show an injury since Nov. 11. Quarterback Stetson Bennet, top running backs Zamir White and James Cook, wide receiver Brock Bowers, and the entire defense, including Nakobe Dean are ready to go. Alabama may have to play without one of their starting offensive linemen, Darrian Dalcourt. Linebacker Keanu Koht may also have to sit out while John Metchie III didn’t play in the semifinal and won’t play next Monday either.

Stetson Bennett played his best game versus Michigan

UGA quarterback Stetson Bennett underperformed versus Alabama in the SEC Championship. But Bennett picked his game up against Michigan and will head to the National Championship off the best performance of his career. Facing an excellent defense, Bennett could do no wrong when completing 21-of-31 for 310 yards and 3 TDs. The victory is what Bennett required after getting suckered into a couple of picks versus the Crimson Tide. He should play his very best on Jan. 10.

Kirby Smart got a chance to see how Nick Saban will play the Dawgs

Even Kirby Smart would admit Georgia had no answers for Nick Saban and Bill O’Brien’s strategy in the SEC Championship. O’Brien and Saban had the perfect game plan to thwart Smart’s defensive schemes. On Monday, though, things could be different because Smart has seen the best O’Brien and Saban can throw at the Dawgs. Not only that, but Kirby and his staff will come up with a game plan on defense to take away some of what Bryce Young does well.

UGA had their “bad game” in the SEC Championship loss

Most championship teams have a bad game on the way to the title. Georgia’s bad game was in the SEC title match that Alabama won 41-24. If the Bulldogs had played a close contest against Michigan, we might say they weren’t ready for the rematch. But Georgia dominated the Wolverines, which means their bad game is already in the rearview mirror.

The Dawgs are due

After years of being picked to win the whole thing, only to run into Alabama or some other top 5 school that got the Bulldogs on their worst day of the season, Georgia is due for some luck. Eventually, the Bulldogs will break the losing streak to the rival Crimson Tide. Why not break it in the National Championship? Georgia has the requisite pieces to win the title. Also, they head into the championship game playing their best football of the season, which means backing the Dawgs might be the play.
