The recent team revamps featured several offseason improvements to secure a better supporting cast for Trevor Lawrence, which adds offensive weapons that they lacked in their previous campaign.

Allen on the Rise

First-choice quarterback Trevor Lawrence might have failed to meet expectations in his rookie year. The Clemson product ranked 17th in passing yards and 28th in passing touchdowns while tying for first in interceptions. Regardless of the underwhelming numbers, he remains the top MVP candidate for the Jaguars at +6600.

Meanwhile, the Jags’ top sleeper MVP candidate to watch out for is defensive end Josh Allen. As a 2019 first-round pick, many hope for a major change in his game. We saw the Kentucky graduate be dominant at times and responsible for some of the Jaguars’ best defensive moments last year. He annihilated the Buffalo Bills in Week 9 and pulled off a two-sack outing in the season finale that knocked the Colts out of playoff contention.

The ceiling is incredibly high for Allen and the entire league knows it. They made sure he no longer has to carry most of the workload. He now has a bookend pass rusher in Travon Walker, defensive end Arden Key, and nose tackle Folorunso Fatukasi in free agency.

We’ve seen elite-level moments come from Allen last season. Although the Urban Meyer conflict might have negatively affected his production. With Meyer out and Doug Pederson taking charge, the organization has a more promising system of operations.
