Jacksonville Jaguars 2022 Top MVP Sleeper Pick

The Jacksonville Jaguars could be the surprise team in 2022. While the side still needs more work to become a top Super Bowl contender, we expect the side to compete at a much higher level this time. The recent team revamps featured several offseason improvements to secure a better supporting cast for Trevor Lawrence, which adds offensive weapons that they lacked in their previous campaign.

With that, we take a look at some of the pivotal pieces of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the top sleeper MVP candidate of the team in the 2022 NFL season.

Allen on the Rise

First-choice quarterback Trevor Lawrence might have failed to meet expectations in his rookie year. The Clemson product ranked 17th in passing yards and 28th in passing touchdowns while tying for first in interceptions. Regardless of the underwhelming numbers, he remains the top MVP candidate for the Jaguars at +6600.

Meanwhile, the Jags’ top sleeper MVP candidate to watch out for is defensive end Josh Allen. As a 2019 first-round pick, many hope for a major change in his game. We saw the Kentucky graduate be dominant at times and responsible for some of the Jaguars’ best defensive moments last year. He annihilated the Buffalo Bills in Week 9 and pulled off a two-sack outing in the season finale that knocked the Colts out of playoff contention.

The ceiling is incredibly high for Allen and the entire league knows it. They made sure he no longer has to carry most of the workload. He now has a bookend pass rusher in Travon Walker, defensive end Arden Key, and nose tackle Folorunso Fatukasi in free agency.

We’ve seen elite-level moments come from Allen last season. Although the Urban Meyer conflict might have negatively affected his production. With Meyer out and Doug Pederson taking charge, the organization has a more promising system of operations.

Updated Jaguars’ Super Bowl 57 Odds

The AFC South division looks tighter this season. While Houston Texas remains dead last +2800, the Jaguars look much better at +700. Since the Jaguars are a different animal approaching the season, we look forward to closer matchups against AFC South’s Tennessee Titans +140 and Indianapolis Colts -111.

Checking over the Jacksonville Jaguars Super Bowl 57 odds, the team sits at (+10000) and remains a longshot pick. However, there’s still time for the numbers to improve if the team does well in preseason and the first few weeks of the 2022 season.
