Joe Burrow, Bengals off to Rough Start in Week 1 of 2022 NFL Season

By Jeff Stinger

The 2022 NFL season is in full swing and it appears that several of the league’s teams are still rusty entering the first game of the new campaign. One player, in particular, is still experiencing a Super Bowl hangover of sorts, as Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is off to quite the miserable start in Week 1.

Burrow had four turnovers in the first half alone; three interceptions with one being returned for a pick-six, and a lost fumble. In turn, the Bengals faced a 17-6 deficit against the Steelers by halftime. The former first-overall pick.

As if matters couldn’t get any worse for “Who Dey” nation, the Bengals also had the misfortune of having wide receiver Tee Higgins become the first casualty of the injury bug in the young season. Higgins suffered a concussion after a hard hit knocked him out following a catch.

The reigning AFC champions are on the ropes against their heated division rivals, but there’s still the second half of the game left to be played as the Bengals try to claw out of a double-digit lead at home against a feisty Pittsburgh side.
