Why Bet on the Los Angeles Lakers?

The Lakers find themselves in trouble again after two-straight losses against the Bulls and the Bucks, respectively. They have a long road stint ahead and the team has to find its footing to get some pace back in the squad.

The franchise holds one of the best points per game records in the league this season. The Lakers average 109.3 PPG (ninth) on 45.9% shooting (tenth). They record a 34.7% three-point shooting percentage (14th). The side does better from the two-point range with a 52.5% average. Overall, the team puts down a 52.4% effective field goal percentage (12th).

Although the Lakers star-studded team, we’ve seen the team move the ball around well. The team averages 23.9 assists (ninth) per game. Russell Westbrook has a team-high 8.75 assists per game.

Defense is not the team’s strongest suit. Frank Vogel and his squad allow 112.2 points (28th) per game. But with the surplus of height, there’s no surprise that the team collects 36.3 defensive boards (ninth) per game.

LeBron James is hopeful for a return on Friday, while Anthony Davis remains under observation and is listed day-to-day. Carmelo Anthony and DeAndre Jordan are expected to start the game if the duo fails to show up.

Why Bet on the Boston Celtics?

The Celtics find some stability in recent games. The team secured three wins in the past week, including a convincing 122-113 victory against the Bucks.

The team averages 106.7 PGG (19th) on 43.9% shooting. However, we see significant improvement in their last three wins where they averaged 108 points per game. The Celtics are not the best three-point shooting team as well. But, seeing that their opponents struggle defending the perimeter makes us think that they will utilize this side of the ball more.

Defensively, the Celtics allow 106.4 opponent points (14th) per game. The team does well contesting defensive rebounds and records 35.3 (15th) per game. Additionally, they produce better offensive rebounding numbers with an average of 10.5 (11th) per game.

Jaylen Brown leads the Celtics’ scoring with 25.6 PPG, while Jayson Tatum is not far behind with 24.2 PPG. The guard and the forward hold scoring for the most part. Meanwhile, Marcus Smart utilizes his defensive skills. The guard records a team-high 5.1 assists and 2.5 steals per game. Additionally, Robert Williams leads the team in rebounds with 9.3 per game.

Brown could miss his sixth consecutive game for the Celtics due to a strained hamstring, while Robert Williams III is day-to-day after coming off with a knee injury in his last outing.

Lakers vs. Celtics Expert Betting Prediction

Neither of these teams is playing at their best, so it’s tough to call which side gets a surefire shot at winning. What we know is the Lakers have key injuries to deal with this season. The Lakers lose on the road by an average of 6.5 points, which makes them the underdogs in this contest. But don’t discount the visitors just yet. Covering the spread is still a possibility for the team once they start playing their cards right. Ultimately, we look forward to another heated battle between the rivals on Friday night.
